The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident coming down the hill involving Ben Purple, ridden by D. King, unplaced, and Ballinoe Blaze, ridden by P.T. Enright, unplaced, where it appeared Ben Purple ran short of room when Ballinoe Blaze did not corner well. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

345D T.A. Morris Memorial EBF (Mares) S'chase

345F Prior Park Service Station H'cap S'chase

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Robert Tyner, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Irish Impulse, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Robert Tyner stated that his charge was unsuited by the tight track at Tramore on chase debut and never got into the race. He further added that the application of the tongue tie may have helped. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.

S. Fitzgerald, rider of Zolpharine, trained by John Patrick Ryan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left up the straight.

S. O'Callaghan, rider of Rock On Pedro, trained by Eoin Doyle, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was badly hampered by the unseated rider coming down the hill.

K.M. Donoghue, rider of Le Grand Vert (FR), trained by J.P.Dempsey, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount stumbled and he was unseated, independently of any other horse. Having viewed a recording of the incident and considered the matter the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr S. Cleary, rider of Honky Tonk, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that his mount was running on. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Mr. S. Cleary was in breach of regulation 10.3.b, the unnecessary hitting of a horse after its chance of winning or being placed is clearly gone, and having considered his record in this regard (first offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended Mr. S. Cleary for two racedays.

Mr D.G. Lavery, rider of Emily's Light, trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left.
