The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

G.B. Noonan rode The Blaggard (reserve) trained by Eoin Christopher McCarthy (Race 1)
J. Smith rode Red Night Sky (reserve) trained by L.J.Archdeacon (Race 4)
Mr. T. O'Connor rode on Kadys Dirha, trained by Thomas P.O'Connor (Race 6)(Stewards permission).

287A John Lynch Memorial M'dn H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Korea (GER), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

P. Townend, rider of Korea (GER), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a bad mistake at the second last hurdle.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of The Blaggard, ridden by G.B. Noonan and trained by Eoin Christopher McCarthy. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. Eoin Christopher McCarthy, stated that his charge is very backward and can be difficult to manage at times, he further expressed his satisfaction with his charge's performance and the ride he received. G.B. Noonan stated that his instructions were to be half way and get his mount to finish out as best he could on the soft ground conditions today. he further added that his mount ducked to the rail after he gave his mount a reminder. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that The Blaggard was post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanations given. Samples were also taken for analysis.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Eoin Christopher McCarthy, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Kingdom Calling (FR), placed first, as compared with its most recent in Tramore on the 18th of September. Eoin Christopher McCarthy said his charge ran a touch keen the last day but settled much better today and got into a good rhythm. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the report.

287F John & Terry Moriarty (QR) H'cap S'chase

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Thomas P.O'Connor, trainer, in relation to his failure to nominate a rider before the fixed deadline as permitted under Regulation 3. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that there was a delay in the renewal of the riders licence being processed. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards allowed the rider nomination of Mr T.O'Connor and took no further action.
