215A Guinness Beginners S'chase

J.W. Kennedy, rider of Jungle Prose, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped poorly and pulled up thereafter.

215B Guinness Open Gate Brewery Novice Schase

J.J. Slevin, rider of Choice Of Words (GB), trained by Martin Brassil, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a bad mistake at the first.

215C Rockshore Refreshingly Irish H'cap

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the run out of the dip involving Shigar, ridden by J. Kearney, placed sixth, San Aer, ridden by B.M. Coen, unplaced, and Cheers Again (GB), ridden by L.T. McAteer, unplaced, where it appeared Cheers Again had to check back after running short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J. Kearney stated that he maneuvred out to take a gap and was aware of Cheers Again on his outer. B.M. Coen stated that that he kept a true racing line and didn't contribute to the incident. L.T. McAteer stated that he was on his racing line and gave numerous shouts to J. Kearney to make him aware of his presence but had to check back when his ground was taken. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found J. Kearney was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his record the Raceday Stewards suspended him for 2 racedays.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Gerard Keane, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Laughifuwant, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Gerard Keane stated that Laughifuwant is a very quirky gelding. He added that in today's race he had a good draw and the race was ran to suit him. Having considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.

S. Foley, rider of Walhaan, trained by Ciaran Murphy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away from then starting stalls.

215D ArthurGuinness Irish EBF Corrib (F) Stks

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the turn into the straight involving Celtic Crown, ridden by R.P. Whelan, unplaced, and Honey Sweet, unplaced, ridden by D.P. McDonogh where it appeared Honey Sweet had to check off heels. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. R.P. Whelan stated that he shifted slightly left but being on the point of the bend it looked worse than it was. D.P. McDonogh stated that he had to take a very slight check but was riding a very difficult filly who exaggerated the move. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after leaving the stalls involving All Lies Ahead, ridden by N.M. Crosse, Miramis, ridden by D. McMonagle, and Keep In Touch, ridden by C.D. Hayes where it appeared All Lies Ahead had to check back after getting tight for room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. N.M. Crosse stated that his horse marginally missed the break and he was riding to go forward but it got tight on the bend. D. McMonagle stated that his horse broke well and was going forward. C.D. Hayes stated that that he was going forward when on the point of the bend it got tight on his inner but he was aware of the horses on his inside. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.

215E Guinness Novice H'dle

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference after the last hurdle involving What Path (FR), ridden by P. Townend, placed second, and The Big Doyen, ridden by K.C. Sexton, placed first, where it appeared What Path suffered interference when challenging. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. P. Townend stated that his momentum was stopped on 3 separate occasions from the last to the line. In his opinion on the uphill run this interference cost him the winning of the race. K.C. Sexton stated that his horse was idling in front and felt he was clear of What Path for most of the run in. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that while The Big Doyen had caused interference to What Path, he did not improve his finishing position as a result of this interference so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. They were, however, of the opinion that K.C. Sexton was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.

P. Townend, rider of What Path (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount received interference three times from the last to the line.

B.W. Harvey, rider of Encanto Bruno, trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Encanto Bruno, trained by John C. McConnell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.

215F Guinness Galway H'dle H'cap

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the turn into the straight involving Filey Bay, ridden by S.D. Torrens, placed fifth, Bialystok, ridden by D.E. Mullins, unplaced, Merlin Giant (FR), ridden by D. Meyler, unplaced, and Amir Kabir (GB), ridden by Sam Ewing, unplaced, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. S.D. Torrens stated that his horse shifted momentarily to the right but was corrected immediately. D.E. Mullins stated that his horse received pressure from both sides. D. Meyler stated that he got tight for room and had to take back. Sam Ewing stated that he was on the inside and didn't move off his line. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Glan, trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be clinically abnormal post race.

215H Guinness Time INH Flat Race

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident turning into the straight involving I Will Be Baie (FR), ridden by Mr P.W. Mullins, placed first, and Sea Music, ridden by Mr J.L. Gleeson, placed third, where it appeared Sea Music got tight on the rail. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr. P.W. Mullins felt that he was clear as he allowed his mount to drift to the rail. Mr. J.L. Gleeson stated that he had to check out when his ground was taken. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found Mr. P.W. Mullins was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record the Raceday Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.
