The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

Mr. J.L. Gleeson rode Minella Mate (reserve), trained by John J. Nallen (Race 2)
S. Foley replaced S.T. McCullagh on Queen Of Seduction, trained by Mrs John Harrington (Race 3) (Intended mount was a non runner)
T. Joseph Kelly rode Mogo Man (reserve), trained by D.E. Fitzgerald (Race 6)
Mr. H.C. Swan rode Ardhill (reserve), trained by Gordon Elliott (Race 7)

214A Win €1,000 Tote Fantasy Bonus M'dn H'dle

P. Townend, rider of High Class Hero (GB), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left and jumped left during this race.

214B Tote Always SP Or Better H'cap H'dle

B. Hayes, rider of Purple Mountain, trained by John Joseph Hanlon, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount sustained an injury and was pulled up.

The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Purple Mountain, trained by John Joseph Hanlon, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be lame post race.

D.J. Gilligan, rider of Shanwalla, trained by Paul John Gilligan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount finished lame.

The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Shanwalla, trained by Paul John Gilligan, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be lame on its right fore.

R.P. Cody, trainer of Fancy A Cosmo, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge was lame post race.

The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Fancy A Cosmo, trained by R.P. Cody, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be lame on its left fore post race.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident inside the final one hundred and fifty yards involving Shanwalla, ridden by D.J. Gilligan, placed third, and Moonovercloon, ridden by J. Smith, placed fourth, where it appeared that Shanawalla received a bump from Moonovercloon who was trying to challenge between horses. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence D.J. Gilligan stated that he was maintaining his racing line when receiving a bump from Moonovercloon who was about three quarters of a length down and trying to challenge through a small gap. J. Smith stated that his mount got his head into a gap but it closed and he took back out of it. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found that J. Smith was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.

Prior to the meeting, the Raceday Stewards approved a request from Clerk of the Course, Mr. Lorcan Wyer, to amend the distance of this race to 2m 6f owing to logistical reasons.

214C Bet €10 Get €30 Irish EBF (M) H'cap Hdle

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference on the rise out of the dip involving A Law Of Her Own, ridden by Sam Ewing, placed first, Cottie, ridden by M.P. O'Connor, placed fifth, Influential Lady, ridden by K. Callaghan, unplaced, and Aurora Princess, ridden by D. Meyler, placed second, where it appeared that interference took place. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence D. Meyler stated that he had space when he manoeuvered out to challenge but the gap closed from his outer. K. Callaghan stated that his mount was hanging left from halfway and he was aware that A Law Of Her Own was on his inner but it became tight from his outer. Sam Ewing stated that there was room to challenge between horses but it closed from his outer. M.P. O'Connor stated that he was riding tight to the rail when receiving pressure from his outer. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. They were, however, of the opinion that K. Callaghan was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.

S.F. O'Keeffe, rider of Feet Of A Dancer (FR), trained by Paul Nolan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was squeezed out at the back of the second last hurdle.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference close to the finish involving A Law Of Her Own, ridden by Sam Ewing, placed first, and Aurora Princess, ridden by D. Meyler, placed second, where it appeared that interference took place. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence Sam Ewing stated that both horses were racing close together going to the finish but he felt that his mount maintained a straight course while also receiving a slight bump. D. Meyler stated that his mount was lugging in towards A Law Of Her Own but he straightened her when racing tight. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. They were, however, of the opinion that D. Meyler was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.

214D The Tote Galway Plate (H'cap S'chase)

The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Kilcruit, trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

G. Brouder, rider of Foxy Jacks, trained by M.F. Morris, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lost its action at the third last fence and was pulled up.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the false start of this race involving Hewick, ridden by B.S. Hughes, Kilcruit, ridden by P. Townend, Easy Game (FR), ridden by Mr P.W. Mullins, Fury Road, ridden by J.W. Kennedy, Lifetime Ambition, ridden by S.F. O'Keeffe, Andy Dufresne, ridden by A.P. Kelly, Final Orders (GB), ridden by S.W. Flanagan, Enniskerry, ridden by M.J.M. O'Sullivan, Visionarian, ridden by D.F. O'Regan, Ciel De Neige (FR), ridden by M.P. Walsh, Foxy Jacks, ridden by G. Brouder, Authorized Art (FR), ridden by D.E. Mullins, The Goffer, ridden by D. Meyler, Ash Tree Meadow (FR), ridden by D.J Gilligan, A Wave Of The Sea, ridden by S.D. Torrens, Gabbys Cross, ridden by Rachael Blackmore, Fighter Allen (FR), ridden by B. Hayes, Hollow Games, ridden by Sam Ewing, Hurricane Georgie, ridden by C.P. McNamara, Lieutenant Command (FR), ridden by C.M. Quirke, Upping The Anti, ridden by D.J. O'Keeffe, Born By The Sea, ridden by P.T. Enright. All riders were afforded the opportunity to give evidence. J.R. Banahan, IHRB Starter, stated that the riders were one and a half furlongs away with one minute to go. They were coming nice and quietly when Visionarian peeled away at the back and disengaged. He informed the other riders while girth checking took place behind. They were too hurried and rushed and there was no opportunity to put the flag up. B.S. Hughes stated that he was two lengths behind the horses on his inner but did his best to stop his horse proceeding into a canter. D.F. O'Regan stated that the buckle on his girth became undone which meant he had to peel away. This led to a rushed approach and they got a bit quicker as everyone turned around. His mount became very upset. Rachael Blackmore stated that she was on the rail trying to obey the Starter but that all the horses are lit up and that other riders' horses are throwing their heads in the air. She further stated that the start of this race is difficult every year. B. Hayes stated that with 22 runners in a line it makes the start difficult. C.P. McNamara stated that no one is trying to get going and that everyone was trying to take a pull. Mr. P.W. Mullins stated that this happens in this race every year.
Having viewed a recording of the false start and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found no breach of rule had taken place and therefore took no further action.

214E Tote.ie Never Beaten By SP (QR) M'dn

Mr B.M. Coonan, rider of Young Lucy, trained by A.J. Martin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount panicked in the starting stalls and was slowly away as a consequence.

Mr T. Hamilton, rider of Up And Under (FR), trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung badly left during this race.

The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Up And Under (FR), trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Raceday Stewards informed W.P. Mullins, trainer that Winter Fog, would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.

C. Stone-Walsh, rider of Genuine Article (GB), trained by D.K. Weld, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount met with interference leaving the starting stalls.

S. Foley, rider of Lan Cinnte, trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was badly hampered leaving the starting stalls.

C.D. Hayes, rider of Semblance Of Order, trained by A. Oliver, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount refused to race when the starting stalls opened.

G.F. Carroll, rider of Duke Of Leggagh, trained by Michael Mulvany, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped sharly left from the starting stalls despite his best efforts to keep the gelding straight.

S.D. Bowen, rider of Malbay Madness, trained by Emmet Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount received a bump leaving the starting stalls.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident on leaving the starting stalls involving Genuine Article (GB), ridden by C. Stone-Walsh, Lan Cinnte, ridden by S. Foley, Duke Of Leggagh, ridden by G.F. Carroll, Sea Gardens (FR), ridden by D. McMonagle and Malbay Madness, ridden by S.D. Bowen, where it appeared that Duke Of Laggah jumped sharply to the left causing a domino effect of interference to all the runners that started with the exception of Semblance Of Order which had refused to race. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that the incident was caused by Duke Of Leggagh jumping sharply to the left causing a knock on effect of interference with no riding offence committed and in the circumstances decided that no further action was warranted.

The Raceday Stewards informed A. Oliver, trainer, that his charge Semblance Of Order, which refused to race today when the starting stalls opened, may render himself liable to a suspension should he repeat similar behaviour in the future.

214G Follow @thetotecom Today H'cap

L.T. McAteer, rider of Dark Voyager, trained by Anthony McCann, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly.

C. Stone-Walsh, rider of Takarengo, trained by Thomas Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right throughout this race.

J.A. Powell, rider of Walking On Glass, trained by Padraig Roche, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung very badly right during this race.

The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Mr Escobar, trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.

The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Immelmann (GER), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have coughed while being examined.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the appropriateness of a person leading up The Jam Man who was not a stable employee as no current AIR card had been issued on behalf of the IHRB. P.J. Rothwell, trainer of The Jam Man, stated that he had employed a groom to lead up his charge and was not aware that a young child had taken the horses head while parading prior to the race. He apologised for the situation which he admitted had caused him embarrassment when it was brought to his attention. Having considered all the evidence, the Raceday Stewards accepted that P.J. Rothwell was aware of his obligation when running horses and that he was caught unaware by the situation that presented. In the circumstances the Raceday Stewards took no further action.
