216A Guinness Galway Tribes H'cap H'dle
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Sundial, trained by Padraig Roche, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
P.J. O'Hanlon, rider of Weddell Sea, trained by Andrew McNamara, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran keen throughout this race.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into the parade ring mounting procedures whereby Buddy One, Tekao and Shecouldbeanything were mounted and failed to proceed around the parade ring as required under the provisions of Regulation 16. Evidence was heard from riders S.D. Torrens, P.T. Enright and J.W. Kennedy. Evidence was also heard from Paul John Gilligan, W.P. Mullins and Camilla Sharples, Authorised representative for G. Elliott. P.T. Enright, rider of Buddy One, stated that his horse got upset and he felt it better to turn around and proceed directly to the parade ring exit. S.D. Torrens, rider of Tekao, stated that as his horse was turned inwards he felt it might upset his horse if he turned him back to follow the other horses. J.W. Kennedy, rider of Shecouldbeanything stated that his filly was right at the entrance to the parade ring when the signal to mount was given and she had only just passed it by the time he mounted. Having considered all the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that S.D. Torrens, P.T. Enright, J.W. Kennedy,Paul John Gilligan, W.P. Mullins and G. Elliott were in breach of Regulation 16 and having considered their records in this regard, the Raceday Stewards fined each of them them €100 on this occasion. Mr. C.J. Sweeney was replaced in this enquiry by Ms. P. Hassett.
216D Guinness H'capJ.A. Heffernan, rider of Laelaps, trained by Andrew McNamara, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got upset in the starting stalls.
M.P. Sheehy, rider of Vultan, trained by A.J.Martin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was short of room in the turn in.
The Raceday Stewards informed Matthew J. Smith, trainer that March Law, would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages of this race involving Teed Up, ridden by S.D. Bowen, placed second, and Brazil, ridden by N.G. McCullagh, placed first, where it appeared Teed Up may have hung left onto Brazil. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence N.G. McCullagh stated that he was aware of Teed Up hanging left but said they never made any contact. S.D. Bowen stated that his mount was hanging left but he felt he done all he could to keep him straight. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.
Mr. Donal H. Gavin recused himself from this enquiry.
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Padraig Roche, trainer following the winning performance of Brazil in this race, which appeared to represent an improvement on it’s previous run in Galway on the 3/8/2023. Padraig Roche stated that on his previous run Brazil missed the start and never got into the race. Having considered the report, the Raceday Stewards noted it’s contents.
216F Arthur Guinness H'capN.M. Crosse, rider of Bright Dick, trained by Luke Comer, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount had no luck in running turning in.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after leaving the stalls involving Sir John Monash (GB), ridden by G.M. Ryan, Harriet Eagle, ridden by R. Donaghue-Leahy, Snowhaven, ridden by S.T. McCullagh, and Kami, ridden by P.A. Harnett where it appeared Sir John Monash and Kami ran short of room and had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. G.M. Ryan stated that he got contact from his right causing him to check. R. Donaghue-Leahy stated that her mount jumped left from the stalls but felt she corrected her as quick as she could. S.T. McCullagh stated that his filly broke well and was clear of any interference. P.A. Hartnett stated that he got a bump from his left causing him in turn to bump Sir John Monash. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied the incident was caused by Harriet Eagle jumping left from stalls and they took no further action.

216H Hop House 13 H'capThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Theonewedreamof, trained by Gavin Cromwell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
R.P. Whelan, rider of Sign From Above, trained by Peter Fahey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lugged right all the way.
N.M. Crosse, rider of Bring Us Paradise (GB), trained by Luke Comer, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran keen.
W.J. Lee, rider of One Cool Poet, trained by Matthew J. Smith, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away from the starting stalls.
