R.M. Power, rider of Atha Solas trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost its action.

At the request of the Stewards, P.K. Donovan, rider of Always Enchanting (GB), trained by E. J. O'Grady, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount is a big raw filly and the connections felt she may struggle to get home on todays going. He added that she was patiently ridden and ran on well to the line.

D.E. Mullins, rider of Self Assessed trained by S.J.Mahon, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount did not jump well.

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Bothar Tara, ridden by D.P. Holden, and trained by S.G. Walsh. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. D.P. Holden, stated that his instructions were to jump off handy and give his mount plenty of light at her hurdles. He said his mount was slow away and he was further back early on then he would have liked and travelled wide before his mount gurgled several times in the home straight, which he reported to the Clerk of the Scales as required under the provisions of Rule 213. S.G. Walsh, confirmed the instructions given and expressed his satisfaction with the ride. Furthermore, he outlined the animals inexperience but stated that she was as fit as he could have her for her first run. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Bothar Tara was found to have a crack to the anterior hoof wall of its left fore, which has been filled, but to be otherwise post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations given and took no further action other than to remind D. P. Holden of his obligations under Rule 212.

D.P. Holden, rider of Bothar Tara trained by S.G.Walsh, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount flipped its palate.

D.J. O'Keeffe, rider of One Horse Army trained by Padraig Roche, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was green throughout.

At the request of the Stewards, Mr D. Allen, rider of Barefoot Man, trained by Terence O'Brien, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount is a big horse with a long stride that did not travel well and struggled to lay up. He added that his mount was one paced from the turn in and may appreciate better ground.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Maccloud, trained by Patrick Neville, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

Rachael Blackmore, rider of Maccloud trained by Patrick Neville, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount hung left.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Elusive Exclusive, trained by James Kieran King, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Bold Assassin, trained by Henry de Bromhead, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.

The Stewards requested a report from Dermot Anthony McLoughlin, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Thunderosa, placed first, as compared with its most recent run. James A. Griffin, Authorised Representative for the trainer concerned stated that his charge got no light in a big field last time out at Fairyhouse on the 27th of February and ran no race as a result, but the smaller field today with more daylight had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation given.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Fierami (FR), ridden by Mr J.J. Codd, placed second, Hilltop Supreme, ridden by Miss R. Murphy, placed first and Rocky's Howya, ridden by Mr J.W. Hannon, placed fourth, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr. J. J. Codd stated that his mount was carried down the flight and collided with Rocky's Howya as a result and he felt the intimidation and the bump had cost him the race. Miss. R. Murphy stated that her mount had run down the hurdle but she had made every effort to keep it straight. Mr. J. W. Hannon stated that he was badly hampered and it finished his challenge. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the winner had not improved its finishing position as a result of what the Stewards felt was accidental interference and they therefore made no alteration to the judge's placings and took no further action.
