388B Lisronagh P-To-P INH Flat Race
The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Da Capo Glory, ridden by Mr D. Allen, placed third and Zero Tolerance (GER), ridden by Mr Pat Taaffe, placed second, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr. D. Allen stated that he suffered slight interference but felt it was of little consequence. Mr. Pat Taaffe stated that his mount was very green and rolled around in the straight. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the judge's placings and took no further action.
388C Horse & Jockey P-To-P INH Flat RaceThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined En Avant (FR), trained by S. Curling, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
388F1 Ballingarry (C&G) P-To-P INH Flat RaceThe Stewards interviewed Mr S.J.P. Baragry, rider of Jordan Bay, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that Mr. S. J. P. Baragry was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency. Having considered Mr. S. J. P. Baragry's record in this regard the Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.
Mr B. O'Neill, rider of My Boy Grizzle, trained by J.Motherway, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran too free early, stopped very quickly in the closing stages and had no more to give on the ground.
388F2 Ballingarry (C&G) P-To-P INH Flat RaceThe Stewards interviewed Mr D.M. Fitzgerald, rider of Broomfield Boy, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the regulation. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that Mr. D. M. Fitzgerald was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g (excessive frequency), f (excessive force) and i (time to respond). Having considered Mr. D. M. Fitzgerald's record in this regard the Stewards suspended Mr. D. M. Fitzgerald for four racedays and sent him to R.A.C.E for one days tuition on the correct use of the whip.
The Stewards enquired into an incident turning for home involving Imminent Arrival, ridden by Mr D. O'Connor, unplaced and Storm Hill, ridden by Mr J.C. Barry, placed sixth, where it appeared both horses had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr. D. O'Connor stated that the gap was closed by the two horses in front of him. Mr. J. C. Barry stated that the horse on his inner had rolled out on the bend. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the incident was caused by both horses going for the same gap and that any interference caused was accidental in nature and they took no further action.
