The Stewards fined the following trainers in respect of their non-runners:-

D.J. Bunyan, trainer of Jabbar (Ground) - €200.
John J Cullen, trainer of Karayaz (Late withdrawal- injured) - €200

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

L.T. McAteer rode Buachaill Or (reserve) trained by Paul W. Flynn (Race 3)

127A Roscommon Claiming M'dn

R.C. Colgan, rider of Master Garvey, trained by Joseph Anthony Murray, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away from the starting stalls.

At the request of the Raceday Stewards, J.A. Heffernan, rider of Burvea, trained by D.Broad, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount came down the centre of the course and was a little short of room. He added that the filly ran green.

127B Irish EBF Auction Series M'dn

S. Foley, rider of Heliogabalus, trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away from the starting stalls and ran off the bottom bend.

W.J. Lee, rider of Courageous Strike (GB), trained by Adrian Murray, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lugged right in the last furlong of this race.

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Hasshoffman (GB), trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran off both bends and did not turn well.

R.P. Cleary, rider of Expecto, trained by J. S. Bolger, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount received a slight check about one furlong from the finish.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident about one furlong from the finish involving High Morale (GB), ridden by D. McMonagle, and Expecto, ridden by R.P. Cleary where it appeared that Expecto checked when High Morale (GB) made an outward manoeuvre. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, R.P. Cleary stated that his mount was going back out of the race when High Morale (GB) went sharply to the left and he took a precautionary check at that point. D. McMonagle stated that his mount began to race in the straight but ran into traffic. He added that he manoeuvred out to the left when clear of Expecto but his mount over reacted. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action on this occasion.

127C1 Dick Mulvanney Apprentice H'cap

S.T. McCullagh, rider of Brown Eagle, trained by M.C. Grassick, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran very free during this race.

J.A. Powell, rider of Deuteronomy, trained by R.P.Burns, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away from the starting stalls.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident inside the final two hundred yards involving Cherry Bloom, ridden by P.A. Harnett, and Sadiqaa, ridden by Adam Caffrey, where it appeared that Sadiqaa had to sit when the gap narrowed directly in front of him between Cherry Bloom and the running rail. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

127C2 Dick Mulvanney Apprentice H'cap

Paul W. Flynn, trainer of Pallasmore Lass, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge cut a wart around the girth area and consequently did not race with the best of action. The IHRB Veterinary Officer confirmed that the girth had rubbed a ventral wart.

S.T. McCullagh, rider of Atbay, trained by Mark Fahey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left in the straight.

Adam Caffrey, rider of Singe Anglais, trained by H.D. McGuigan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away from the starting stalls.

C.J. MacRedmond, rider of Leclerc (GB), trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lost his action turning into the straight.

A.C. Persse, rider of Blue Wood, trained by M.A.Cahill, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount slipped on leaving the back straight.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident about two hundred yards from the finish involving Thunder Canyon, ridden by J. Coen, unplaced, Derrinlaur Spender, ridden by J.A. Powell, unplaced, and Designer Cailin, ridden by J.J.G. Ryan, placed fourth, where it appeared that Thunder Canyon checked when in the gap between Derrinlaur Spender and Designer Cailin. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, J. Coen stated that his mount was between horses when Derrinlaur Spender moved towards Designer Cailin and he had to check his own mount off the heels of Derrinlaur Spender. J.J.G. Ryan stated that in his opinion his mount maintained a straight racing line when staying on one paced. J.A. Powell stated that his mount was running around when he changed whip hand and the gelding went left but he put his hands back on the reins as quickly as possible to correct the movement. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found that J.A. Powell was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards suspended J.A. Powell for five racedays. Kevin Borthwick accompanied J. Coen at this enquiry.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident close to the winning post involving Derrinlaur Spender, ridden by J.A. Powell, unplaced Designer Cailin, ridden by J.J.G. Ryan, placed fourth, Manhattan Dandy, ridden by R. Whearty, placed third, and Sin E Shekells (GB), ridden by S.D. Bowen, placed sixth, where it appeared that Manhattan Dandy drifted towards the running rail from an outside position and Derrinlaur Spender checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, S.D. Bowen stated that his mount was under pressure but maintained a straight racing line without receiving any interference. J.A. Powell stated that he took out of the situation when tiring and getting tight for room. J.J.G. Ryan stated that Sin E Shekells (GB) who was racing on his outer, came across towards his own mount and he put down his whip and tried to check. R. Whearty stated that his mount got lairy when challenging on the outer and began to wander inwards. He added that he tried to correct his mount as he was aware of horses on his inner. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found that R. Whearty was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards suspended R. Whearty for one raceday. Kevin Borthwick accompanied S.D. Bowen at this enquiry.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed R. Whearty, rider of Manhattan Dandy, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, R. Whearty stated that his mount was lairy and the last hit was for corrective purposes to avoid causing interference to Designer Cailin. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that R. Whearty was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Raceday Stewards suspended R. Whearty for three racedays.

127D Shanagher Hearing M'dn

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Hutton Glen, trained by G.M.Lyons, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

W.J. Lee, rider of Ethical Diamond, trained by Michael William O'Meara, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount rolled left momentarily about one hundred and fifty yards before the finish.

127E Racing Again Here On June 1st H'cap

R.P. Whelan, rider of Narlita (GER), trained by H.Rogers, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that he took a precautionary check in the latter stages of this race.

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Play It Again Zaam, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got carried to the right in the first furlong of this race.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident about two hundred yards from the finish involving Pralognan (FR), ridden by C.T. Keane, Atlantic Island, ridden by N.M. Crosse, and Narlita (GER), ridden by R.P. Whelan, where it appeared that Narlita (GER) got tight for room when Pralognan (Fr) arrived on the her outer when delivering his challenge, with Atlantic Island racing tight to Narlita (GER) on her inner. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

127F Abbey Hotel, Roscommon H'cap

R.P. Cleary, rider of On The Money, trained by J. S. Bolger, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got bumped on the bend turning into the straight.

R.C. Colgan, rider of Grey Fable, trained by Ms. Sheila Lavery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped left out of the starting stalls.

A.J. Slattery, rider of Believe Me Now, trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount took a check in the straight.

127G Free Admission Here On June 1st H'cap

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident inside the furlong marker involving Sequoiaspirit, ridden by J.M. Sheridan, placed first, Five Zeros, ridden by Amy Jo Hayes, unplaced, and Girl Crush, ridden by G.M. Ryan, unplaced where it appeared that Girl Crush checked when Sequoiaspirit moved across her racing line. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In her evidence, Amy Jo Hayes stated that her mount began to drift to the left and she tried to correct this with her whip in her left hand. G.M. Ryan stated that J.M. Sheridan was looking for a gap when steering his mount to the right. He added that his own mount had emptied out and he took a precautionary check. J.M. Sheridan stated that he was held on his outer and was looking for room to deliver a challenge. He added that Five Zeros drifted to the left in front of him and he got up on that horses heels but quickly opted to go right to avoid any problem. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action.

G.P. Halpin, rider of Cafe Con Leche, trained by C.Byrnes, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got tight for room for two strides about one and a half furlongs out but he did not have to stop riding at this point.

N.M. Crosse, rider of Boola Boola, trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left throughout this race.

J.M. Sheridan, rider of Sequoiaspirit, trained by Ray Hackett, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was tight for room two furlongs out.
