The Raceday Stewards interviewed M.P. O'Connor, rider of Commandingpresence, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he had used his whip unnecessarily after his chance of winning or being placed was clearly gone and he apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that M.P. O'Connor was in breach of Regulation 10.3.b, the unnecessary use of the whip after his chance of winning or being placed was clearly gone. Having considered his record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards suspended him for one raceday.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident at the end of the back straight involving Benz, ridden by B.W. The Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Redwood Queen, ridden by M.M. McDonagh, and trained by C. Byrnes. Evidence was heard from the rider and the Authorised Representative for the trainer concerned. M.M. McDonagh stated that his instructions were to jump off mid division, get cover and hold onto his mount as long as he could as she finds very little off the bridle. He added that his mount came up out of his hands at the second flight and he injured his right hand, limiting his ability to ride his mount out in the closing stages. Cathal Byrnes, Authorised Representative for the trainer concerned, confirmed the instructions given and expressed his satisfaction with the ride. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the IHRB Veterinary Officer who stated that Redwood Queen had pulled its right fore shoe but was otherwise found to be post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the IHRB Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Jennifer Pugh, who stated that M.M. McDonagh appeared to have a soft tissue injury to his right hand and had been placed on Alert. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanations given. They were however satisfied that M.M. McDonagh was in breach of Rule 213, in that he failed to report in the first instance something that may have affected his mounts performance and having considered his record in this regard, they cautioned him on this occasion. Mr. C.J. O'Reilly did not take part in the deliberation of this enquiry. Mrs. Ciara O'Shea and Mrs. Fran Lawler attended this enquiry in an observatory capacity.
