The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

J.J. Slevin replaced J.M. Moore on Rebelle Chaud, trained by Alan Donoghue (Race 2)(Injured)
M.P. Walsh replaced J.M. Moore on Dakota Beat, trained by Gavin Cromwell (Race 4)(Injured).
K.M. Donoghue replaced J.M. Moore on Bentham, trained by Gavin Cromwell (Race 5)(Injured).

238A Sanctuary Synthetics 3-Y-O M'dn H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Dawn Over Owning, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

238B Irish Stallion Farms EBF (M) M'dn H'dle

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Bright Sunbird, ridden by Adam Williams, and trained by Paul Nolan. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. Adam Williams, stated that his instructions were to jump off mid division or towards the rear, to settle his mount and to do the best he could. He said his mount made jumping mistakes and was off the bridle from the start and never travelled throughout, but did pass tired horses in the closing stages. He further added that he was familiar with the animal having ridden her on two previous occasions, where her jumping had let her down and that he was mindful of this in his riding.
Paul Nolan, confirmed the instructions given and expressed his over all satisfaction with the ride. He was of the view that the rider could have put his charge into the race at an earlier stage, but was unsure if the animal would have finished out the race as well if the rider had done this. He outlined his charges previous form and stated that she had undergone intensive schooling in an attempt to give her confidence having fallen when on her first run over hurdles. He further expressed his satisfaction with the run and in particular was delighted with her jumping throughout.
The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, who stated that Bright Sunbird was found to be post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Paul Nolan,trainer, was in breach of Rule 212.A(ii) and having considered his record, they fined him €2,000. The Stewards were also satisfied that Adam Williams, rider, was in breach of Rule 212A.(ii)and having considered his record, they suspended him for 10 racedays and ordered that he forfeit his riding fee. Furthermore, the Stewards suspended Bright Sunbird from running for a period of 42 days as a consequence of the riders actions in accordance with the provisions of Rule 212.C(d).

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Lil Codey, ridden by A.W. Short, and trained by C.A.McBratney. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. A.W. Short, stated that his instructions were to settle his mount in mid division, get his mount jumping and to do the best he could. He said he is very familiar with his mount having schooled her prior to today. He said he mount settled and travelled well until making a mistake down the back, after which he allowed her time to recover. He added that his mount failed to travel thereafter and that he had considered pulling up before the last. C.A.McBratney, confirmed the instructions given and expressed his satisfaction with with the ride. He said his charge is a very small filly, bred for the flat and perhaps did not handle the trip. He further added that his charge had disappointed on her previous run when fading quickly in the closing stages. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, who stated that Lil Codey was found to be post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

238D Thank You Snowy For 40 Years M'dn H'dle

E. Walsh, rider of Eyezawinkin trained by W.Power, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled and was pulled up thereafter.

238E GVA Donal O’Buachalla H'cap H'dle

R.M. Power, rider of Conron trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a bad mistake and was pulled up shortly afterwards.

B.J. Cooper, rider of Quamino (GER) trained by Paul Nolan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a noise in running and was pulled up.

S.F. O'Keeffe, rider of Streets Of Doyen trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right.

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Streets Of Doyen, ridden by S.F. O'Keeffe, and trained by John C. McConnell. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned and from Mr. Martin Fox, Authorised Representative for the trainer. S.F. O'Keeffe, stated that his instructions were to jump off in mid division, get his mount to settle and to do the best he could. He said his mount jumped well but hung right throughout which progressively got worse as the race unfolded. He said his mount met with interference turning in before staying on one paced in the closing stages after the horses in front of him appeared to slow dramatically near the line. Mr. Fox, confirmed the instructions given and expressed his satisfaction with the ride. He stated that his charge was a quirky individual that had lost its way of late, but had shown plenty of ability in the past. He further added that the rider was unfamiliar with Streets Of Doyen and felt he could possibly have won had he known the animals characteristics. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, who stated that Streets Of Doyen was found to be post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

Mrs John Harrington, trainer of Conron, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her charge had lost a shoe in running.

238F Irish Stall. Farms EBF (F) INH Flat Race

The Stewards interviewed Mr D. O'Connor, rider of Monas Melody, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Mr. D. O'Connor was in breach of Regulation 10.3(h)(arm above shoulder height) and having considered his record, they suspended him for 2 racedays.
