237E October Bank Holiday Weekend Hcap Schase

The Stewards requested a report from Patrick Joseph Hayes, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Flirting Lesa, placed first, as compared with her previous run in a steeplechase at Tipperary on the 19th July 2020. Patrick Joseph Hayes reported that his charge had not raced since September 2019 when making her reappearance at Tipperary. He reported that he was disappointed with her run that day where she ran lifeless and did not jump fluently. He added that following that run he gave the mare a short break and then ran her in a Ladies Race at Tramore when she finished fifth. He felt that the run at Tipperary was a once off situation and she appears to have returned to form since then. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

237F Kenny Developments H'cap S'chase

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Coeur Joyeux, trained by J.P.Dempsey, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The following Raceday Stewards acted on behalf of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board at this race meeting:

Justice Raymond Groarke (Chairman),

Mr. John Powell,

Mr. Peter M. Allen,

Mr. L. Walsh.

The Stewards met to consider a report from Frank Lannon, HRI Covid Officer at today's fixture, that Kevin Brouder, NH Jockey, had wrongfully gained an admission wrist band for a passenger travelling with him. In his evidence, Frank Lannon stated that Kevin Brouder had carried out correct screening procedures before gaining admission to the racecourse but quickly returned to the entrance area claiming to having lost his wrist band and seeking a replacement band which he was given by the IHRB Security Officer. At a later stage a passenger was observed in his car within the enclosures and in possession of a wrist band. The passenger admitted to having gained access to the racecourse enclosures with Kevin Brouder. She confirmed that she had not received health screening clearance for today's fixture. Declan Buckley, IHRB Security Officer stated that he had spoken with Kevin Brouder who admitted that he had wrongfully claimed an admission wrist band for his passenger and furthermore had brought the said person within the enclosure area. Kevin Brouder, rider, accepted without dispute the evidence of Frank Lannon and Declan Buckley. He admitted what he had done and added that the passenger had intended to remain in the car at all times. He confirmed that he was in possession of two wrist bands neither of which were mislaid. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards referred the matter to the CEO of the IHRB for further investigation.
