The following trainers were fined €200 each for the non-notification of a Veterinary Certificate in accordance with the provisions of Rule 194 (v) (vi):- Mr. M.F. Morris for Elysian Rock (GB) (lame) at Killarney on 31st August and Mr. Gordon Elliott for Raajih (GB) (stiff) at Dundalk on 2nd September.
Roscommon Meeting, 3rd September 2012
The Stewards authorised the following substitution of rider at this meeting: K.C. Sexton replaced S.W. Flanagan (Stewards permission) on Aves, trained by Mr. Timothy Doyle (sixth race).
240C Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Handicap & Mr. H. Rogers, trainer of Irish Reel, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge was found to have a burst blood vessel post race. This was confirmed to the Stewards by the Turf Club Veterinary Officer.
240D Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden & The Stewards interviewed F.M. Berry, rider of the winner Grandma Dotty, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that F.M. Berry was in beach of Regulation 10 in that he had failed to give his mount sufficient time to respond. Having taken his recent record in this regard into account, the Stewards therefore suspended him for one race day (17th September).
240E Four Roads Mares Maiden Hurdle & The Stewards interviewed B.F. Cawley, rider of the winner The Colleen Ban, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that B.F. Cawley was in beach of Regulation 10 in that he used his whip with excessive frequency and failed to give his mount sufficient time to respond.
The Stewards therefore suspended him for two race days (17th and 18th September).
The Stewards requested a report from Mrs. Maureen Danagher, trainer of the winner The Colleen Ban, regarding the apparent improvement in form of her charge compared to the filly’s previous run at Kilbeggan on the 24th August.
Mrs Danagher reported that her charge disappointed at Kilbeggan last time when failing to handle the very testing conditions.
Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
240F Tote Betting Now Available In Paddy Power Betting Shops Handicap Hurdle & The Stewards requested a report from Mr. I. Madden, trainer of the winner Cherryantor, regarding the apparent improvement in form of his charge compared to the horse’s previous run at Kilbeggan on 24th August.
Mr. Madden reported that his charge disappointed at Kilbeggan last time when failing to handle the very testing conditions.
Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
Mr. P.J. Rothwell, trainer of Slim To None, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge made a bad mistake and was pulled up lame.
240G Frenchpark (Pro/Am) I.N.H. Flat Race & The Stewards interviewed Mr. S. Crawford, rider of the winner Josie S And B, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr. Crawford was in beach of Regulation 10 in that he used his whip with excessive frequency. The Stewards therefore suspended him for one race day (17th September).
The Stewards requested a report from Mr. Shane Kieran Ryder, trainer of the winner Josie S And B, regarding the apparent improvement in form of his charge compared to the filly’s previous run at Tramore on 19th August.
Mr. Ryder reported that his charge disappointed at Tramore last time and said that he removed the drop nose today band as perhaps she resented it the last day. He added that the change in tactics today by racing more prominently had paid off.
Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanations offered.
Downpatrick Meeting, 4th September 2012

232B Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Mares Handicap Hurdle & D.J. Condon, rider of Some Fiddle, trained by Mr. Gordon Elliott, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was pulled up lame.
A.D. Leigh, rider of Celtic Cailin, trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount jumped poorly in this race.
232C Win A Diamond Ring Today Handicap Hurdle & The Stewards received a request from Mr. E.J. O’Grady, trainer of Sun Fisher, to substitute the nominated rider S.J. Hassett, with B.J. Geraghty, as the former was not present today.
Having considered the request, the Stewards allowed the substitution, and using their powers under Rule 196 (v), they therefore fined S.J. Hassett €200.
B.J. Geraghty, rider of Sun Fisher, trained by Mr. E.J. O’Grady, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his saddle slipped in this race.
232D Free Admission To Downpatrick Races To Everyone This Evening Mares Maiden Hurdle & The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Gale Force Lucey, trained by Mr. C. Roche, was found to be lame in front post race.
232F Willie Murphy Jewellers, Downpatrick Handicap Hurdle & The Stewards interviewed B. Hayes, rider of Harangue, unplaced, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that B. Hayes was in breach of Regulation 10 3. (b) in that he continued to hit his horse after its chance of winning or being placed had clearly gone, (e) in that he hit the horse other than down the shoulder or on the hind quarters and (f) with excessive force and frequency.
Having taken his record into account the Stewards therefore suspended him for three race days and referred him to R.A.C.E. for a one day tuition on the correct use of the whip.
D.G. Lavery, rider of Paudi The Punter, trained by Mr. Conor O’Dwyer, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was badly hampered in this race.
Killarney Meeting, 4th September 2012
355A Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden & The Stewards enquired into an incident on the first bend after the start involving Hall Of Mirrors, ridden by J.P. O’Brien, placed second, Mac Lir (USA), ridden by K.J. Manning, and The Ticket Man (GB), ridden by F.M. Berry, both unplaced, after it appeared that Mac Lir (USA) received interference on the rails.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned which included an admission from K.J. Manning that his mount was keen early on but had settled approaching the first bend. He added that when taking his mount back at this point the colt wanted to go right and on checking him the saddle slipped at the same time. He said that, in his opinion, the other riders were blameless.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanations offered and took no further action.
355B Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden & The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving the winner Purple, ridden by J.P. O’Brien, Starstruck, ridden by P.J. Smullen, placed second, and Euphrasia, ridden by G.F. Carroll, placed third.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. The Stewards did, however, consider that J.P. O’Brien had ridden carelessly and having taken his good previous record in this regard into account, they therefore suspended him for one race day (18th September).
The Stewards enquired into an incident about three furlongs out after the turn at the bottom of the track involving Starstruck, ridden by P.J. Smullen, placed second, Euphrasia, ridden by G.F. Carroll, placed third, and Hittin’the Skids, ridden by A. O’Shea, placed fifth, after it appeared that the latter received a check.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was accidental in nature and took no further action.
355D www.mosscontrols.ie Handicap & B.A. Curtis, rider of Matjar, trained by Mr. Joseph Quinn, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung left in running.
355G Ross Golf Course Handicap & The Stewards requested a report from Mr. John Joseph Murphy, trainer of the winner Diamond Pro, regarding the apparent improvement in form of his charge compared with the horse’s previous run at Sligo on the 8th August, where he finished 11th of 13 and was beaten 67 lengths by Seventh Sign.
Mr. Murphy reported that his charge went to Sligo on the back of a very good run at Fairyhouse, but disappointed on that occasion. He was unable to pinpoint an exact reason for this performance other than to say that his charge possibly did not perform on the testing ground, while he also ran wide off a bend and seemed to lose interest.
Having considered the report, the Stewards noted it’s content.
Gowran Park Meeting, 5th September 2012
The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting: M.C. Hussey rode Sweet Annathea (reserve), trained by Mr. Thomas Cleary (fourth race); D.M. Grant rode Art Fund (USA) (reserve), trained by Mr. P. Delaney (fourth race) and F. Lynch rode Diamondgeezer Luke (reserve), trained by Mr. F. Costello (sixth race).
241A Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund (C&G) Median Auction Maiden & W.J. Lee, rider of Murphy’s Delight, trained by Mr. David Wachman, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount missed the break, ran green and was unable to get a clear run in the straight.
241D Kilkenny Handicap & The Stewards interviewed L.F. Roche, rider of Enter The Red, unplaced, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned and also from Mr. Aidan Anthony Howard, trainer of Enter The Red.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that L.F. Roche was in breach of Regulation 10 in that he continued to use his whip after his chance of winning or being placed had clearly gone.
Having taken his recent record in this regard into account, the Stewards therefore suspended him for two race days (19th and 20th September).
Furthermore, the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr. Howard was in breach of Regulation 10 in that his instructions may have contributed to the riders breach of this regulation and they therefore severely cautioned him concerning his future responsibilities in this regard and in particular when giving riding instructions to Apprentices.
241F(i) Goresbridge Handicap (Division One) & The Stewards fined Mr. J.S. Bolger, trainer of Foinse, €65 for failing to fit a tongue tie to his charge prior to entering the parade ring for this race.
P.J. Smullen, rider of To The Sky, trained by Ms. Joanna Morgan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount may not have benefited from today’s step up in trip.
241F(ii) Goresbridge Handicap (Division Two) & Samantha Bell, rider of Silas Mariner, trained by Sabrina J. Harty, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that her mount was off the bridle turning into the straight, but stayed on well in the closing stages.
B. A. Curtis, rider of Maybe Its For Luck, trained by Mr. Thomas James, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that the bit went through the horse’s mouth and that the animal ducked towards the stable yard area.
Clonmel Meeting, 6th September 2012
The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting: The following riders replaced M.J. Ferris (Stewards permission):- R.M. Moran rode Beliar (GER), trained by Mr. Eoin Doyle (sixth race) and S.J. Gray rode Nishay, trained by Mr. Henry de Bromhead (seventh race); The following riders replaced F.M. Berry (injured):- P.J. Smullen rode Positive Vibes (GB), trained by Mr. A.L.T. Moore (third race) and S.A. Gray rode Badger Daly, trained by Mr. J.R. Hagan (fourth race) and P.A. Gallagher rode Kilnafrehanstar (reserve), trained by Mr. John E. Kiely (fifth race).
242B Mullinahone Maiden & The Stewards requested a report from a number of riders regarding the fall of Caliente, who appeared to sustain an injury and unseat F.M. Berry. R.P. Whelan, rider of Nia’s Caul, reported that he suffered accidental interference from Caliente and was unseated. Adrian O’Shea, rider of Hittin’the Skids, and W.J. Lee, rider of Gumption, both reported that their mounts suffered accidental interference as a result of Caliente falling. F.M. Berry was unavailable for interview having been injured in the incident.
Having considered the reports and viewed a recording of the race the Stewards were satisfied that the incident was accidental in nature. They therefore noted the explanations offered and took no further action.
242C Tickincor Handicap & The Stewards received a report from Mr. A.L.T. Moore, trainer of the winner Positive Vibes (GB), regarding the apparent improvement in form of his charge compared to the horse’s previous run at Sligo on the 8th August.
Mr. Moore reported that his charge ran very flat at Sligo and that in hindsight the race came too quickly after his previous run at Galway. He said the horse was subsequently given a break and this appears to have freshened him up and helped him to return to form.
Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
A.P. Thornton, rider of King Of Oriel, trained by Mr. Donal Kinsella, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount became fractious in the preliminaries.
R. Coakley, rider of Roja Dove, trained by Mr. K.J. Condon, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was slowly away.
242D Sunday 30th September Family Day At Clonmel Handicap & The Stewards enquired into an incident turning into the straight involving Phoebe Van Gelder, ridden by M.J. Hussey, placed fourth, and Curl Cat (USA), ridden by B.A. Curtis, unplaced, after it appeared that the latter had to check.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that M.J. Hussey had ridden carelessly (Rule 214).
Having taking his good record into account, the Stewards severely cautioned him concerning his future responsibilities in this regard.
242F Giantsgrave Handicap Hurdle & The Stewards granted permission for Drive On Locky to run without a tongue tie, which was found to be defective at the start prior to the running of this race.
242G Mylerstown Maiden Hurdle & D.E. Splaine, rider of Rior, trained by Ms. Debbie Hartnett, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung badly in the latter stages of this race.
Kilbeggan Meeting, 7th September 2012
The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting: D.E. Mullins rode Can’t Call It (reserve), trained by Mr. Anthony Mullins (first race) and Andrew J. McNamara replaced M. Darcy (injured) on Page One Two Nine, trained by Mr. Michael T. Moran (sixth race).
The Stewards fined the following trainer €200 in respect of his non-runner: Mr. Denis Gerard Hogan for Cerveza Dinero (GB) (off feed).
243A Kilbeggan Maiden Hurdle & D.N. Russell, rider of Salazaar, trained by Mr. Michael Kiernan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount jumped poorly throughout this race. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Salazaar was found to be post race normal.
243C Moate Handicap Hurdle & The Stewards enquired into the application of cheekpieces on Super Collider (GB), trained by Mr. John Joseph Hanlon, instead of blinkers as declared under Rule 194(ii)(c) which necessitated the withdrawal of the animal at the start in accordance with the provisions of the Rule.
Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned.
In his evidence Mr. Hanlon accepted the error and took full responsibility. He added that he saddled two runners in this race and assumed that cheekpieces had been declared as his charge had run too free the last day when fitted with blinkers. He believed that he had told his office staff yesterday morning regarding the headgear to be declared but he now realises that he made a mistake.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards severely cautioned Mr. Hanlon concerning his responsibilities under Rule 148(i).
The Stewards received a report from Mr. P.F. Graffin, Turf Club Starter, which stated that B.J. Cooper, rider of Taleb (GB), and C.D. Maxwell, rider of Houdini Bright (USA), had both disobeyed his instructions and attempted to start before he had mounted his rostrum resulting in the calling of a false start
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the start and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that B.J. Cooper and C.D. Maxwell were both in breach of Rule 208(ii)(f) in that they had failed to comply with the instruction of the starter.
Having taken his good previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards severely cautioned B.J. Cooper, while they suspended C.D. Maxwell for one race day (21st September) having taken into consideration a previous breach by the rider in this regard.
243D Angus Beef Ireland Hurdle & D.E. Splaine, rider of Dark Vagabond, trained by Mr. I. Madden, reported to a Turf Club Official that his mount was found to have a burst blood vessel post race.
243E Midland Breeders Supporting Kilbeggan Beginners Steeplechase & The Stewards enquired into an incident after the final fence involving the winner Sicilian Secret, ridden by D.J. Casey, and Mickelson, ridden by P. Carberry, placed third, after it appeared that the latter ran short of room when reaching the continuous running rail.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that D.J. Casey had ridden carelessly. Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards therefore severely cautioned him.
243F Dunbia Handicap Steeplechase & B.J. Geraghty, rider of Clicksnmortar, trained by Mr. E.J. O’Grady, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount suffered accidental interference which was caused by a faller.
Mr. M. Halford, trainer of Granaruid, reported to the Turf Club Veterinary Officer that his charge made a bad mistake at the second fence in this race.
243G Athlone I.N.H. Flat Race & The Stewards heard a complaint lodged by Mr. P.W. Mullins, rider (in accordance with Rule 31) against Mr. P.F Graffin, Turf Club Starter, that a false start should have been called for this race. Mr. Mullins stated that he was acting on the instructions of Mr. W.P. Mullins, trainer, in respect of their charge Wrong Way Corrigan.
Evidence was heard from Mr. P.W. Mullins and Mr. P.F. Graffin. Also present were Mr. Gary Davis, Authorised Representative of Mr. W.P. Mullins, and Mr. N. McParlan rider of Rory’s Brother.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that a fair start had been effected. They felt that the complaint lodged in accordance with the provisions of Rule 31 was made without good grounds and consequently ordered that the €130 deposit be forfeited.
The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Waylander, ridden by Miss P. Ryan, placed second, and Rohan’s Pride, ridden by Mr. R. Honner, placed third.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. The Stewards did, however, give Miss P. Ryan the benefit of the doubt in her contribution to the interference and took no further action.
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that The Buddy Pass, trained by Mr. A.J. McNamara, was found to be lame post race.
Mr. Barry T. Murphy, trainer of Green Diesel, reported to the Turf Club Veterinary Officer that his charge was showing signs of being in season post race.
Leopardstown Meeting, 8th September 2012
The Stewards authorised the following substitution of rider at this meeting: C.D. Hayes replaced F.M. Berry (injured) on Ballybacka Lady, trained by Mrs John Harrington (third race).
244A Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden & Mrs John Harrington, trainer of Peggy’s Leg (USA), reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that her charge reared up in the stalls prior to the start of this race.
D.P. McDonogh, rider of Shelina, trained by Mr. John M. Oxx, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran flat in this race.
244B KPMG Enterprise Stakes & The Stewards interviewed J.P. Murtagh, rider of Primevere, placed second, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that J.P. Murtagh was in breach of Regulation 10 3 in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency and Regulation 10 4 in that he failed to give his mount time to respond.
Having taken his record into account, the Stewards therefore cautioned him as to his future responsibilities in this regard.
244C Coolmore Fusaichi Pegasus Matron Stakes & The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the straight involving the winner Duntle, ridden by W.M. Lordan, Chachamaidee, ridden by T.P. Queally, placed second, and Alanza, ridden by S. Foley, unplaced.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that interference had occurred and that the winner had improved its finishing position in relation to Chachamaidee. The Stewards therefore reversed the placings of the first two horses.
Furthermore, the Stewards were of the opinion that W.M. Lordan was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly during this incident. Having taken his record in this regard into account, the Stewards therefore suspended him for two race days.
The result should now read: First – Chachamaidee; Second – Duntle.

The Stewards interviewed T.P. Queally, rider of the winner Chachamaidee, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that T.P. Queally was in breach of Regulation 10 3.(g) in that he had used his whip with his arm above shoulder height.
Having taken his record into account, the Stewards therefore cautioned him as to his future responsibilities in this regard.

244D Icon Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Trial Stakes & J.P. O’Brien, rider of Battle Of Marengo, trained by Mr. A.P. O’Brien, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount jumped the road crossing and as a result his saddle slipped.
244F Leopardstown September Handicap &. F. Lynch, rider of Jamesie, trained by Mr. David Marnane, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran out of room in the straight.
244G Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund (C&G) Maiden & The Stewards enquired into an incident just before the turn into the straight involving Sea Shadow, ridden by R.P. Whelan, placed third, Fascinate, ridden by J.P. O’Brien, and Queen Of The Sand, ridden by G.F. Carroll, both unplaced, after it appeared that interference had taken place.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that any interference which occurred was accidental in nature and they therefore took no further action.
The Stewards informed Mr. P. Twomey, trainer of Distant Bells (FR), that his charge would have to be re-certified before being declared to run from stalls again.
G.F. Carroll, rider of Minister Of Mayhem (GB), trained by Mr. M.D. O’Callaghan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran short of room and as a result had to check.
J.A. Heffernan, rider of Magician, trained by Mr. A.P. O’Brien, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount suffered interference in the back straight and again in the straight.
244H Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Handicap & The Stewards requested a report from Mr. A.P. O’Brien, trainer of the winner I Have A Dream (GB), regarding the apparent improvement in form of his charge compared with the horse’s previous run at Killarney on 30th August where he finished seventh of nine.
Mr. O’Brien reported that coming back up in trip today may have helped his charge, but that the change in going was the most significant factor as the ground was particularly heavy at Killarney last time.

Curragh Meeting, 9th September 2012
The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting: F. Lynch replaced R. Hughes (Stewards permission) on Coolibah, trained by Mr. Charles O’Brien (first race); R.P. Whelan rode Aurifodina (reserve), trained by Mr. J.S. Bolger (eighth race) and D.P. McDonogh rode Ansgar (reserve), trained by Sabrina J. Harty (eighth race).
245A Moyglare 50 European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden & The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Burnt Sienna, ridden by D.A. McCormack, and trained by Mr. John Joseph Murphy.
Evidence was heard from the rider and from Mr. Eamonn O’Donnabhain, representing the trainer.
In his evidence D.A. McCormack stated that his instructions today were to get this filly into the race and do his best. He said he asked her for an effort three furlongs out but she rode like a weak filly, changed her legs and became unbalanced in the straight. He said the race was soon gone from her and he held her together until the finish.
In his evidence Mr. O’Donnabhain confirmed the instructions and expressed himself satisfied with the ride today. He stated that this was a weak filly having her second run and that she had come back from Naas with sore shins and is possibly suited by more give in the ground.
The Stewards also received a report from the Turf Club Veterinary Officer which stated that Burnt Sienna was found to be post race normal.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations offered but advised D.A. McCormack to make more of an effort in future.
Regarding the sore shins which emerged after the run at Naas and which was not subsequently reported to the Turf Club, the Stewards referred this matter to the Referrals Committee under Rule 213.
C.D. Hayes, rider of Madam Mo, trained by Mr. P.J. Prendergast, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount stumbled and unseated him shortly after coming out of the stalls.
245B Go And Go Round Tower Stakes & The Stewards enquired into two incidents in the straight in this race. The first incident involved Royal Empress, ridden by C. O’Donoghue, placed third, and Lightnin Hopkins, ridden by G.F. Carroll, unplaced, after it appeared that interference had taken place.
The second incident involved Cougar Ridge (USA), ridden by W.J. Lee, placed second, Lewisham (GB), ridden by A. Kirby, placed fifth, Dylanbaru, ridden by W.M. Lordan, George Vancouver (USA), ridden by J.P. O’Brien, and Curly Wee, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, all unplaced, after it appeared that interference had taken place.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards cautioned C. O’Donoghue to ride with more care in future in relation to the first incident.
Regarding the second incident, the Stewards were of the opinion that any interference which occurred was accidental in nature and they therefore took no further action.
245D Irresistible Jewel Blandford Stakes & The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Up, trained by Mr. A.P. O’Brien, was found to be lame post race.
245E Moyglare Stud Stakes & The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that My Special J’s (USA), trained by Mr. John Patrick Shanahan, was found to be post race normal.
245F Free To Speak Apprentice Handicap & The Stewards requested a report from Mr. James M. Barrett, trainer of the winner Lake George, regarding the apparent improvement in form of his charge compared with the horse’s previous run at the Curragh on the12th August where he finished eighth of twelve.
Mr. Barrett reported that this horse needs good ground which he has not had all summer. He felt that today’s firmer surface had brought about the improvement. He also reported that he decided to leave the blinkers off the horse today as he had not been running well in them recently.
Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanations offered.
245G Profound Beauty European Breeders Fund Autumn Fillies Handicap & The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Sense Of Purpose, trained by Mr. D.K. Weld, was found to have been struck into on her left hind leg when examined post race.
