The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of All The Best, ridden by M.J. Molloy, and trained by A.J. Martin. Evidence was heard from the rider and Cathy O'Leary, Authorised Representative for the trainer concerned. M.J. Molloy, stated that his instructions were to jump off three quarters of the way back, get his mount jumping well and to do his best from there. Cathy O'Leary, confirmed the instructions given and expressed her dissatisfaction with the ride that her charge received. She felt the rider had his mount far too far back and as a consequence had no chance of winning from where he was and she also added that the rider could have been much harder on his mount. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that All The Best was post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanation given by the authorised representative. They were, however of the opinion that M. J. Molloy was in breach of Rule 212.A.(ii), in that he was not seen to have been the subject of an attempt to achieve from his mount timely, real and substantial effort and having considered his record in this regard the Stewards suspended M. J. Molloy for ten racedays and ordered that he forfeit his riding fee. Furthermore, The Stewards suspended All The Best for a period of 42 days in accordance with the provisions of Rule 212.C(d).
