The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

J.P. O'Sullivan, rider of Shotgun Willie trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung badly right.
At the request of the Stewards, J.M. Moore, rider of Five Helmets, trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount jumped with no confidence and ran on by tired horses.
358B1 Hotel Park St Johann Tirol M'dn H'dleA. McCurtin, rider of Eltico trained by James H. Black, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made an abnormal respiratory noise in running and was also hampered at the last.
P.T. Enright, rider of Mattie Cahill trained by Philip Fenton, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Mattie Cahill, trained by Philip Fenton, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have blood at both nostrils, possibly as a result of exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage.
358B2 Hotel Park St Johann Tirol M'dn H'dleP. Townend, rider of Frere Tuck (FR) trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount choked from the end of the back straight, he held onto him for as long as he could thereafter and he ran on to the finish.
The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Frere Tuck (FR), ridden by P. Townend, and trained by W.P. Mullins. Evidence was heard from the rider and Peter Delmer, authorised representative for the trainer concerned. P. Townend, stated that his instructions were to jump off with the leaders and to do his best from there. He stated that he was happy with his position and felt he was close enough if good enough but that his mount had then choked at the end of the back straight and continued to make a noise all the way up the home straight. Furthermore he added that he was surprised at how well his mount had finished considering the noise that it was making. W.P. Mullins's authorised representative, confirmed the instructions given and expressed his satisfaction with the ride. Furthermore, he added that he was initially disappointed with his charges performance until he heard the noise it was making upon pulling up. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Frere Tuck was post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations given and took no further action other than to remind P. Townend of his responsibilities in this regard. Mr. Justice Tony Hunt absented himself from this enquiry.
358C eCOMM Merchant Solutions H'cap H'dleMiss A.B. O'Connor, rider of At The Acorn trained by A.J.Martin, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount made an abnormal respiratory noise in running.
358D John Lynch Carpets Beginners S'chaseP. Townend, rider of The Big Getaway trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount stopped very quickly.
358F Foxrock H'cap S'chaseP. Townend, rider of Saturnas (FR) trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a mistake at the fourth last and stopped quickly.
The Stewards received a report from Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Starter,Mr. J. R. Banahan, that M.J. Bolger, rider of Massey's Wood (GB) had put his mount into a trot with a view to taking an advantage before the race starts. Evidence was heard from the starter and rider concerned. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Stewards gave M. J. Bolger the benefit of the doubt in this instance and took no further action.
358G Racing Industry Fundraiser INH Flat RaceThe Stewards interviewed Mr S. Fenelon, rider of Trying My Best, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found Mr. S. Fenelon in breach of Regulation 10.3,(b), the use of the whip when his chance of winning or being placed was clearly gone. Having considered Mr. S. Fenelon's record in this regard the Stewards suspended him for one raceday.
