The Raceday Stewards granted a request from Eoin Griffin, trainer of Doyentohurl, for an additional ten minutes to present his charge for identification to an Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Official in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90 (i).
The Raceday Stewards granted a request from S.R.B. Crawford, trainer of Jony R for an additional ten minutes to present his charge for identification to an Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Official in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90 (i).
S.W. Flanagan, rider of Baroness Orczy, trained by Barry Connell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly.
At the request of the Raceday Stewards, S. Fitzgerald, rider of Kaligo, trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that he came slightly off his racing line to avoid the faller.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident around the home bend involving Arch Empire (FR), ridden by D.J Gilligan, placed fourth, Fad Eadrainn, ridden by S.D. Torrens, placed second, Jony R, ridden by D.E. Mullins, placed seventh and Withabitofluk (GB), ridden by R. Blackmore, placed fifth, where it appeared horses came together. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D.J Gilligan stated that he maintained his racing line around the bend and had to take a check. S.D. Torrens stated that he kept his racing line and did not suffer any interference. D.E. Mullins stated that his mount went left into the infield after jumping the hurdle and when attempting to come back to his racing line and meet the rail, he gave a shout. He further stated that the incident was a result of general bunching. R. Blackmore stated that she kept her line, one off the rail when things became congested to her left. She further stated that D.E. Mullins mount made contact, which caused her mount to become unbalanced. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action.
059A2 Mongey Communications M'dn H'dleAt the request of the Raceday Stewards, D. King, rider of Zuzukel (FR), trained by A.J.Martin, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that he stayed on past tired horses.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Gatehouse Boy (FR), ridden by D. Robinson and trained by P.J. Rothwell. Evidence was heard from the rider and Mr D. Nolan, authorised representative of the trainer concerned. D. Robinson stated that his instructions were to sit three quarters of the way back in the field and ride the horse to the best finishing position. He further added that his mount was very green, backing off and that he felt he would be tailed off at the end of back straight, but once he ran past a horse or two that he finished well past tired horses. Mr D. Nolan confirmed the instructions that were given and expressed his satisfaction with the ride. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Gatehouse Boy (FR) coughed three times when being examined and has a graze on the inside of the left hind fetlock, but was otherwise found to be post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the evidence given and took no further action.
Prior to the running of the race A.J. Martin, trainer of Zuzukel (FR), reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge is a very difficult individual who would be leaving the parade ring last and wearing a hood. He advised that for his charge to be seen to be running to his best effect in the race, he would be instructing his rider to jump off a few lengths behind the other runners, to allow his mount to settle and to ride his race from there.
059B Navan Members (Mares) H'cap H'dleJ. Coen, rider of Burvea, trained by D.Broad, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung slightly left throughout.
059E Irish Stallion Farms EBF Nov. H'cap S'chThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Black Bamboo, trained by John Joseph Murphy, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Mousey Brown trained by Dermot Anthony McLoughlin lost a left fore shoe in running and struck into her left fore fetlock.
059F Kilberry H'cap S'chaseThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Quornofamonday, trained by J.P.Dempsey, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be lame on its right fore post race and had a wound to the inside of his right fore cannon.
