At the request of the Raceday Stewards, R.A. Berry, rider of Thurman, trained by C.A.Murphy, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount did not enjoy todays going and had a blow before struggling to get home from the last.
354C Gaeil Colmcille GAA Kells H'cap H'dleThe Raceday Stewards granted a request from Aidan Anthony Howard, trainer of Adhuil, for an additional ten minutes to present his charge for identification by an IHRB Official in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90(i)
The Raceday Stewards enquired into the circumstances whereby Malbas and Free Parking, both trained by John C. McConnell had to be resaddled prior to the start of this race, resulting in a delay to the off time. Evidence was heard from John C. McConnell who stated that he had been delayed getting into the track and the wrong saddle had been put on each horse and he accepted full responsibility for the error and apologised for the delay. Having considered all the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that John C. McConnell was in breach of Rule 148(i) and having considered his record in this regard (first offence) the Raceday Stewards fined John C. McConnell five hundred euro on this occasion. Mr. Justice Tony Hunt did not participate in this enquiry and Mr. C. P. Magnier acted as Chairman.
The Raceday Stewards reviewed the false start prior to the start of this race. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter and consulted with the IHRB Starter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Spanish John trained by P.A.Fahy was found to have a drop of blood at its left nostril post race.
354D John Lynch Carpets Monksfield Novice HdlThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Wrecking Ballbilly, trained by Noel C. Kelly, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
J.S. McGarvey, rider of Wrecking Ballbilly, trained by Noel C. Kelly, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled and stopped quickly.
354E Bar One Racing Tara H'cap H'dleThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Londonofficecallin, trained by Gavin Cromwell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident down the back involving Sarah Beara, ridden by P.T. Enright, unplaced, where it appeared she struck a birch doll. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident at the end of the back straight where the runners meet the rail again involving Maxi Mac Gold (FR), ridden by S.W. Flanagan, placed fourth, where it appeared he ran short of room for several strides. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
354F Bar One Racing Troytown H'cap S'chaseThe Raceday Stewards granted a request from Gordon Elliott, trainer of Chemical Energy, to fit the declared headgear to his charge after he entered the parade ring and before the rider mounted.
S.W. Flanagan, rider of Ask Anything, trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a bad mistake at the first and was pulled up thereafter.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined American Mike, trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
R.A. Doyle, rider of Gevrey (FR), trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a mistake at the fifth last.
The Raceday Stewards received a request from Gordon Elliott, trainer of Stuzzikini, to substitute the nominated rider D. J. Gilligan, with G. Brouder, due to D. J. Gilligan being injured. Having considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards allowed the request on this occasion as they were satisfied that the request conformed with the provisions of Regulation 3(a) and (d).
