The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Joseph G. Murphy, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Grey Leader, placed third, as compared with its recent form. Joseph G. Murphy stated that the application of the first time hood, a step back up to one mile and a drop in the ratings had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation given.
