196B Irish Stallion Farms EBF Race

D. McMonagle, rider of Galen (GB), trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right in the home straight.

196C Lakes Of Killarney H'cap

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident inside the final two furlongs involving Gandolfo, ridden by N.J. Ryan, unplaced and Grand Citadel, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, placed fourth where it appeared they briefly made slight contact. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed J. Cleary, rider of Copie Conforme, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. J. Cleary stated he felt his mount was feeling the ground today and was running around and his final strike was to keep her straight. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found J. Cleary was in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record in this regard (second offence) they suspended him for four racedays.

J.A. Heffernan, rider of Grand Citadel, trained by Micky Fenton, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount did not handle the track and ran off the home bend.

196D Torc Mountain H'cap

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the bend leaving the back straight involving Pier Pressure (FR), ridden by Amy Jo Hayes, placed fourth, and Independent Expert, ridden by A.J. Slattery, placed first, where it appeared Pier Pressure had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Amy Jo Hayes stated that her mount was running keen and as the field moved out to round the bend she had to take a check to prevent contact. A.J. Slattery stated that he was aware that he had moved off the rail in order to ride the bend correctly and felt he was clear of Pier Pressure when returning to the rail. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Andrew Slattery, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Independent Expert, placed first, as compared with its most recent run at Gowran on 3rd of June. Andrew Slattery, trainer, stated that in his opinion although the going reort for Gowran was Good he felt it was very tacky and his filly just did not act on it. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation given.

At the request of the Raceday Stewards, D.S. O'Sullivan, rider of Freescape (GB), trained by David Marnane, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount stumbled and fell independently of any other runner. The Raceday Stewards reviewed the video footage and were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

196F Irish Stallion Farms EBF Med. Auct. M'dn

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Teriferma (GB), trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran off the first bend.
