The Stewards fined the following trainers in respect of their non-runners:-

Joseph Patrick O'Brien, trainer of Fast Tara (Declared in Error) - €200
Adrian McGuinness, trainer of No More Porter (Declared in Error) - €200

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

S. Foley rode Lexington Dash (FR) (reserve) trained by John C. McConnell (Race 3)
D.P. McDonogh rode Shigar (reserve) trained by William Durkan (Race 3)
M.P. Sheehy replaced S.T. McCullagh on Mexicali Rose (GB), trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien (Race 4)(Intended mount a non-runner)

217A Guinness Beginners S'chase

R.A. Doyle, rider of Franciscan Rock, trained by M.F.Morris, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped poorly.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Franciscan Rock, trained by M.F.Morris, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be stiff behind post race.

217B Guinness Open Gate Brewery Novice Schase

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the circumstances surrounding the fact that Another Choice, trained by Matthew J. Smith and ridden by J. Smith, did not continue to proceed around the parade ring and be mounted on the walk as required under the provisions of Regulation 16. Evidence was heard from the trainer and rider concerned. In his evidence the trainer stated that his horse was getting a bit worked up. The rider stated that the horse is a bit difficult and has flipped over in the past. Having considered all the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Matthew J. Smith was in breach of Regulation 16 and having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards fined him €100 on this occasion.

217C Rockshore Refreshingly Irish H'cap

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Shigar trained by William Durkan was found to have blood at both nostrils post race.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident at the bend into the straight involving Lust, ridden by S.P. Bird, Simply Sideways, ridden by M.W Hassett, Casanova (GB), ridden by Adam Caffrey, Fratas, ridden by W. Joyce, and Soaring Monarch, ridden by L.T. McAteer where it appeared horses on the outer got tight for room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. S.P. Bird stated he was up front and travelling until the hill. He's in front of the trouble and keeps a straight course. M.W. Hassett stated that he was in behind Casanova (GB), pushing along one-paced, when he straightens up others come out to meet him and he clips a heel. Adam Caffrey stated that he made a challenge on the outside but his horse was running flat and he received a bump from his inside. W. Joyce stated that he was off the bridle and going backwards when he got pressure from his inside. L.T. McAteer stated that he was far back going up the hill when his horse picks up well. The horse in front of him stops and he catches his heel at which point he shifts out. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action other than to advise L.T. McAteer to ride with more care in future.

Adam Caffrey, rider of Casanova (GB), trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got a bump at the furlong pole.

217D ArthurGuinness Irish EBF Corrib (F) Stks

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined One Look, trained by P. Twomey, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

217E Guinness Novice H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Now So Jake, trained by David Harry Kelly, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have blood at both nostrils post race.

P.T. Enright, rider of Now So Jake, trained by David Harry Kelly, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount burst.

G.B. Noonan, rider of Ollie La Ba Ba, trained by Eoin Christopher McCarthy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left and jumped left.

217F Guinness Galway H'dle H'cap

P. Townend, rider of Daddy Long Legs (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got turned sideways at the start and got left.

J.G. Gilligan, rider of Kings Hill, trained by Paul John Gilligan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount acted up at the start.

M.P. Walsh, rider of Risk Belle (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lost his place at the start due to a horse facing sideways.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed the start of this race. Having viewed the recording of the start and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

217G Guinness 0.0 H'cap

S. Foley, rider of Chatterbox, trained by John Joseph Murphy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away.

W.J. Lee, rider of Lady Christa, trained by Ms. Sheila Lavery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left from seven furlongs out.

R.P. Cleary, rider of Question Of Class, trained by J. S. Bolger, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was keen early.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident at the bend past the stands involving Son Of Hypnos, ridden by W. Joyce, King Of The Bronx, ridden by G.F. Carroll, and There's No Limit, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, where it appeared horses got tight for room. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

217H Guinness Time INH Flat Race

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from I.Madden, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Brave Crogha (FR), placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that this horse was worked on by a chiropractor since his last run which may have accounted for his improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation offered.
