The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

218A Guinness Galway Tribes H'cap H'dle

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident in the dip involving Volantis, ridden by K.M. Donoghue, Kaleb, ridden by J.M. Quinlan, and Dark Note (GB), ridden by Mr A.P. Ryan, where it appeared horses got tight for room. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed G.B. Noonan, rider of Walnut Beach, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he thought he was closer to the placings than he actually was. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3.(b) (unnecessary use after chance gone)(first offence) and having taken his record into account suspended him for two race days.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Volantis trained by Ross O'Sullivan was found to have blood on his right nostril post race.

J.B. Foley, rider of Rocky Blue, trained by Thomas Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount pulled up injured.

218B James's Gate Irish EBF Med. Auction M'dn

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Nobler (GER), trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped the roadway.

L.T. McAteer, rider of Mighty Day, trained by James M. Barrett, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran green down the hill.

Siobhan Rutledge, rider of Esque Elegance, trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount ran green.

N.M. Crosse, rider of Great Mover, trained by W. McCreery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left turning in.

M.M. McDonagh, rider of The Gradual Slope, trained by Sean O. O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed J. Smith, rider of Moonovercloon, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he miscounted in a driving finish. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3.(g)(frequency) (second offence) and (f)(force)(first offence) and having taken his record into account suspended him for eight race days.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed D.J Gilligan, rider of Battleoverdoyen, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he miscounted in a tight finish. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3.(g)(frequency)(third offence) and having taken his record into account suspended him for eight race days.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the circumstances surrounding the fact that Hascoeur Clermont (FR), trained by Gavin Cromwell and ridden by C. Stone-Walsh, did not continue to proceed around the parade ring and be mounted on the walk as required under the provisions of Regulation 16. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that this is a hot horse and he thought it best to turn back. Having considered all the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Gavin Cromwell and C. Stone-Walsh were in breach of Regulation 16 and having considered their records in this regard the Raceday Stewards fined each of them €100.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Gordon Elliott, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Battleoverdoyen, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that this horse has been very disappointing recently but possibly benefitted from being ridden patiently in a strongly-run race. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation offered.

218D Guinness H'cap

The Raceday Stewards interviewed C.D. Hayes, rider of Eagle's Way (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he miscounted and apologised for his oversight. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3.(g)(frequency)(first offence) and having taken his record into account suspended him for two race days.

218F Arthur Guinness H'cap

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident in the straight involving Killeaney Bear, ridden by A.J. Slattery, and Victor's Choice, ridden by R. Whearty, where it appeared these horses got tight on the rails. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

J.J.G. Ryan, rider of Si Senior, trained by Patrick Magee, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung badly left all the way.

M.W Hassett, rider of Alto Sax, trained by Peter Fahey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped right out of the stalls and his saddle slipped.

218G Rockshore Refreshingly Irish Race

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Pied Piper (GB), trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

218H Hop House 13 H'cap

The Raceday Stewards interviewed C.T. Keane, rider of Toll Stone, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the whip regulation. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3.(g)(frequency)(first offence) and having taken his record into account suspended him for two race days.

J. Kearney, rider of Cozone (GB), trained by Matthew J. Smith, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away.

S. Foley, rider of Magnetic North, trained by Ian Patrick Donoghue, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount anticipated the start and hit the gate.

J.M. Sheridan, rider of Newport (GB), trained by Eoin Doyle, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped left out of the stalls. Having reviewed the incident the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident leaving the stalls involving Mr Percy, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, and Out On Friday, ridden by W. Joyce, where it appeared these horses bumped coming out of stalls. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
