Prior to the start of this race, the Clerk of the Course changed the going to good, good to yielding in places.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident approximately 150 yards from the finish involving Happy Henry, ridden by W.J. Lee, placed sixth, American In Paris, ridden by J.M. Sheridan , placed third, and Livingston Range, ridden by K.G. Kennedy, placed second, where it appeared W.J. Lee had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. W.J. Lee stated that he felt pressure from his outside causing his mount to make contact with American In Paris. J.M. Sheridan stated that he kept a straight line and received contact from his inside. K.G. Kennedy stated that his mount was leaning right despite his best efforts. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
L.T. McAteer, rider of Is That Love, trained by P. Sweeney, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that he used his whip in the forehand position down the shoulder for corrective purposes as his mount was hanging left. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the circumstances surrounding the late arrival of Tam Lin to the start having been trotted all the way down and contributed to a delay to the start of this race. Evidence was heard from the trainer Daniel James Murphy and rider J.A. Powell. J.A. Powell stated that as he was cantering to the start, his mount put his head up in the air and hit the rail. He further added that he trotted to the start for safety purposes. Daniel James Murphy stated that his charge can be very difficult and has bolted to the start previously. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards reminded Daniel James Murphy of his responsibilities to have the horse on time down to the start in future.
J.J.G. Ryan, rider of Spent All Me Money, trained by Jack W. Davison, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left off the bend.
J.A. Powell, rider of Tam Lin, trained by Daniel James Murphy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was very keen to post.
W.J. Lee, rider of Great Mover, trained by W. McCreery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got a bump from the inside and caught heels.
R. Whearty, rider of Cosmic Force (GB), trained by Keith Henry Clarke, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly into stride.
G.M. Ryan, rider of Northern Attitude, trained by Diego Dias, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got a bad bump on the point of the bend.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident rounding the home bend involving Spent All Me Money, ridden by J.J.G. Ryan, placed fourth, Great Mover, ridden by W.J. Lee, placed third, Kodi's Angel, ridden by W. Joyce, unplaced, and Northern Attitude, ridden by G.M. Ryan, placed fifth, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. W.J. Lee stated that his mount was pushed out causing him to run up on heels. W. Joyce stated that he maintained his racing line around the bend. G.M. Ryan stated that he was pushed out from the horse on his inside and was caught in the middle. J.J.G. Ryan stated that his mount was leaning out on the point of the bend despite his best efforts. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
