The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

N.M. Crosse replaced J.M. Sheridan on Harry The Rogue, trained by Andrew Slattery (Race 6)(stewards permission)
R. Donaghue-Leahy replaced K.A. Corrigan Roche on Wonder Spirit (GB), trained by G.A. Kingston (Race 6)(stewards permission)
J. Kearney rode Half Nutz (reserve) trained by Adrian McGuinness (Race 6)

374B Christmas Party Nights Claiming Race

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Chris Timmons, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Chicago Storm (GB), placed first, as compared with its recent form. Chris Timmons reported that his charge got hampered in his last two runs and that things went right for him today. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation given.

The Raceday Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. P.L. Malone, that K.A. Corrigan Roche, rider of Wonder Spirit (GB), had presented herself to weigh out at 4lbs overweight, none of which had been declared at declaration time. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that her scales weren't accurate at home and apologised for her actions. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that K.A. Corrigan Roche was in breach of Rule 198(vii)(a) and having considered her clean record in this regard, they fined her €150 on this occasion. K.A. Corrigan Roche was accompanied by G.A. Kingston at this enquiry. Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards received a request from G.A. Kingston to replace the nominated rider with R. Donaghue-Leahy and they allowed this request.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed N.M. Crosse, rider of Harry The Rogue, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the Whip Regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that N.M. Crosse was in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his clean record in this regard, they suspended him for three racedays.

J.A. Powell, rider of Chestnutter, trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right in the straight.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed R.P. Whelan, rider of Limestone Red, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the Whip Regulation and stated that his mount was responding. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that R.P. Whelan was in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his clean record in this regard, they suspended him for two racedays.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed G.F. Carroll, rider of Belles Feuilles (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the Whip Regulation and stated that he miscounted and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that G.F. Carroll was in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record in this regard (second offence), they suspended him for four racedays.

C.D. Hayes, rider of Snag It, trained by P.J.F. Murphy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran keen.

The Raceday Stewards informed Gordon Elliott, trainer of Knock Flyer, that a repeat performance from his charge who bolted to the start and unseated the rider, may render the animal liable to a suspension in future.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the home straight involving Bridezilla, ridden by J.M. Sheridan, unplaced, Calrissiana (GB), ridden by R.P. Cleary, placed third, Denim And Diamonds, ridden by M.P. Sheehy, placed fifth, and Love Sonnet, ridden by S. Foley, unplaced, where it appeared S. Foley had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.M. Sheridan stated that he took a precautionary check. S. Foley stated that just as he was getting to the gap it tightened either side of him ever so slightly. R.P. Cleary stated that his mount ran around but didn't cause any interference. M.P. Sheehy stated that when he gave his mount a little flick behind the saddle she slightly shifted in on top of the other horses but he corrected her immediately. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Beautiful Affair, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran short of room in the straight.

J.M. Sheridan, rider of Bridezilla, trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that he had to take a slight check.

R.P. Cleary, rider of Calrissiana (GB), trained by Noel Meade, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran around under pressure.

M.P. Sheehy, rider of Denim And Diamonds, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount shied away from the whip.

S. Foley, rider of Love Sonnet, trained by John Joseph Murphy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got a little bit short of room in the straight.
