J. Coen, rider of Ruby Mouse, trained by Peter Fahey, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was reluctant to line up and was slowly away as a result. The Raceday Stewards reviewed the start of this race and were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

251B Ulster Carpets H'cap H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined St Denis's Well, trained by Ian Patrick Donoghue, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be showing signs of mild delayed recovery.

K.M. Donoghue, rider of St Denis's Well, trained by Ian Patrick Donoghue, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount took a false step shortly after the second last hurdle.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed P. Hanlon, rider of Watch The Weather (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, P. Hanlon stated that he felt that his first strike did not make contact with his mount. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that P. Hanlon was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record in this regard (fourth offence), they suspended him for 16 racedays.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed C.P. Millar, rider of Air Drop, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. C.P. Miller stated that he was trying to rotate his whip into a forehand position and struck his boot in doing so. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that C.P Miller was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record in this regard (fourth offence), they suspended him for 16 racedays.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Joseph Patrick O'Brien, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Prairie Dancer, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Joseph Patrick O'Brien reported that his charge appreciated the small field today and got into a better rhythm which may have brought about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation given.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed C. Stone-Walsh, rider of Prairie Dancer, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the Whip Regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that C. Stone-Walsh was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g) (frequency) and having considered his clean record in this regard, they suspended him for three racedays.

251F Glenallen Homes H'cap S'chase

C. Stone-Walsh, rider of Wee Jerry, trained by Ian Patrick Donoghue, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount struck into itself. The animal was subsequently examined by an Irish Horseracing Veterinary officer and was found to be lame post race.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed S. Fitzgerald, rider of Desert Heather, trained by Rodger Sweeney, concerning the fact that he appeared to ease his mount close to the line which may have cost him fifth place. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that his mount had not run in a long time, got extremely tired and had no more to give close to the line. Having viewed the recording and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards accepted the explanation given and were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Desert Heather, trained by Rodger Sweeney, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
