253A Irish Stallion Farms EBF Med. Auct. M'dn

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Ciaran Murphy, trainer, in relation to the fact that his charge stood in the stalls and refused to race. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that he has done lots of work with this filly since she last refused to race at Dundalk. Having considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards suspended Orange Avenue, for thirty days in accordance with the provisions of Rule 14(iii), and also ordered that she be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.

J.J.G. Ryan, rider of Lord Talbot, trained by T.G.McCourt, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left.

B.M. Coen, rider of Orange Avenue, trained by Ciaran Murphy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount refused to race.

Adam Caffrey, rider of Comfort Line, trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount didn't get a clear run in the straight.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the home straight involving Rampage, ridden by J.J.G. Ryan, placed fifth, The Blue Panther, ridden by L.F. Roche, unplaced, Cherry Pink, ridden by Adam Caffrey, placed first, and Royal Tribute, ridden by N.M. Crosse placed second, where it appeared horses got tight for a stride. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.J. G. Ryan stated that his race was run when horses came around him and he sat for a stride. N.M. Crosse stated that his mount shifted slightly right as he dropped his whip. L.F. Roche stated that he did not recieve or contribute to the incident. Adam Caffrey stated that he came wide into the straight and was clear when he moved in. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.

Amy Jo Hayes, rider of Barnhill Rose (GB), trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount never travelled.

R. Whearty, rider of River Derwent (GB), trained by Thomas Coyle, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away.

S. Foley, rider of Blue Wood, trained by Kevin Michael Smith, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away.

D. McMonagle, rider of Cousin Shay (GB), trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount didn't handle the track.

K.J. Leonard, rider of Coffeemeanscoffee, trained by Tom McGuinness, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got tired in the last furlong.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Blue Wood, trained by Kevin Michael Smith, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be coughing post race and also lost a shoe in running.

253C Peadar Kearney's Pub H'cap

B.M. Coen, rider of Nakasero, trained by M. Halford & T. Collins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got tight for room at two furlongs from home.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident close to the line involving Breathe Again, ridden by R.C. Colgan, placed fifth, Cornahilt Soldier, ridden by R. Whearty, unplaced and Vierson, ridden by D.S. O'Sullivan, unseated rider, where it appeared Cornahilt Soldier stumbled and Vierson jinked unseated its rider. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. R.C. Colgan stated that he kept wide and felt he did not contribute to the incident. R. Whearty stated that his mount stumbled a number of times in the straight and was aware of Vierson rolling in slightly, but it did not contribute to his horse stumbling close to the line. D.S. O'Sullivan stated that his mount rolled in a bit and then jinked of his own accord causing him to get unseated. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.

At the request of the Raceday Stewards, R. Whearty, rider of Cornahilt Soldier, trained by Kevin Michael Smith, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount got tight for room one and a half furlongs from home. Having viewed a recording of the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

253D Irish EBF Auction Series M'dn

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the last 100 yards involving Unique Journey, ridden by S.T. McCullagh, placed sixth, Therussiancomposer (GB), ridden by D. McMonagle, unplaced, and Isabella Expert (GB), ridden by M.W Hassett, placed fifth, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. S.T. McCullagh stated that his mount was very green and changed leads after the road crossing and he took a precautionary check as he was aware of horses drifting in. D. McMonagle stated that he felt pressure from his outside. M.W Hassett stated that on approach to the road his mount shifted left and felt he corrected his mount as quick as he could. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings, they were however of the opinion that M.W. Hassett was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his record in this regard (second offence,) they suspended him for 4 racedays.

D. McMonagle, rider of Therussiancomposer (GB), trained by Ciaran Murphy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got tight for room after crossing the road.

M.W Hassett, rider of Isabella Expert (GB), trained by W.P.Browne, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran around in the straight and became unbalanced.

S.T. McCullagh, rider of Unique Journey, trained by Daniel James Murphy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that he had to take a check in the last 100 yrds.

253E Dolly's Bar & Pantry H'cap

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Air Force One, trained by P. Twomey, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

W.M. Lordan, rider of Escaping Thejungle, trained by E. D. Delany, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right.

W. Joyce, rider of Rathbranchurch, trained by Michael Mulvany, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount anticipated the stalls opening and struck it as a result.

At the request of the Raceday Stewards, Adam Caffrey, rider of Inishmot Prince, trained by T.G.McCourt, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount gave a slight stumble on leaving the stalls.

253F Gibneys Gormanston (Fillies) M'dn

S. Foley, rider of Realt Na Ri, trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran flat.

Ms. K. Harrington, Authorised Representative for Mrs John Harrington, trainer of Realt Na Ri, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her charge was found to have no abnormalities on endoscopic examination but was showing signs of being in season post race.

253G Ploughman Bar & Grill (QR) H'cap

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Royal Eagle, ridden by Mr A.J. Lord, placed first, and Walking On Glass, ridden by Miss A.B. O'Connor, placed second, where it appeared Walking On Glass had to switch. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Miss A.B. O'Connor stated that her racing line was taken and she lost 3 lengths as a result of the interference. She also believed that she was on the best horse and would have won with a clear run. Mr. A. J. Lord stated that he was clear when he moved to the rail. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Royal Eagle had caused interference to Walking On Glass in that he did improve his finishing position as a result of this interference so they reversed the placing's of the first and second horses and they amended the result to read as follows:

First: Walking On Glass
Second: Royal Eagle
Third: Barrier
Fourth: Baltic Bird
Fifth: Barnacullia
Sixth: Glan

Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Mr. A.J. Lord was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and in considering his clean record in this regard, they suspended him for 2 racedays.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr A.J. Lord, rider of Royal Eagle, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that it was a misjudgement on his behalf and apologised. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Mr. A.J. Lord was in breach of R10.3(g) (frequency) and having considered his record in this regard (first offence) they suspended him for 4 racedays.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Reina Del Mar, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

Miss A.B. O'Connor, rider of Walking On Glass, trained by Padraig Roche, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount suffered interference in the closing stages.
