E. Walsh, rider of Lucky Two, trained by Thomas Gibney, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel. This was subsequently confirmed by the I.H.R.B. Veterinary officer Mr. A. Tyrell.
K. Callaghan, rider of Shesdoenwell, trained by Thomas Gibney, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a noise in running.
The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident just after the start of this race, involving Alvarez Eclipse, ridden by M.P. O'Connor, where it appeared that Alvarez Eclipse started to buck and plunge forward resulting in M.P. O'Connor getting unseated. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that a fair start had been effected, and therefore took no further action.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed Niall Moore, rider of Mister Twist, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, Niall Moore stated that his mount needs plenty of encouragement, but accepted that he had breached the whip regulation for frequency. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Niall Moore was in breach of R10.3(g)(frequency). Having considered his record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards suspended Niall Moore for two racedays.
161B Cab Plant M'dn H'dleK. Callaghan, rider of Dysart Dasher, trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left throughout this race.
N.J. Ryan, rider of One Of Us Is Lying, trained by Neill McCluskey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was hampered by the faller at the second hurdle.
161C Irish Stallion Farms EBF (M) H'cap H'dleThe Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident approaching the last hurdle involving Influential Lady, ridden by D. King, Knocknagappagh, ridden by E.A. Fitzgerald, and Natural Look, ridden by S. Fitzgerald, where it appeared that E.A. Fitzgerald and S. Fitzgerald got tight for room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, D. King stated that his mount drifted inwards when under pressure after using his whip, but felt he corrected his mount quickly as possible. S. Fitzgearld stated that he was tiring when he got tight for room as a result of pressure coming from his outside. E. A. Fitzgearld stated that he got tightened up from the horses on his outside. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that D.King was in breach of Rule 214(careless riding)and having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards cautioned D. King on this occasion.
E. Walsh, rider of Bella Bliss, trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.
L.A. McKenna, rider of First Dare, trained by Liz Doyle, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his saddle slipped.
161D Tote SP Or Better Opp. H'cap H'dleThe Raceday Stewards received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Starter, Mr. Joe Banahan, that C. McGivern, rider of In From The Cold, P.T. Smithers, rider of Typical Thomas, D. King, rider of Rock On Seamie and M.J.M O'Sullivan, rider of I Don't Get It, had disobeyed his instructions resulting in a false start. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, D.King stated that he did everything he could to restrain his mount going forward. P.T. Smithers stated that his mount was getting wound up, but felt he had kept his mount under control. C.J McGivern stated that his mount was a buzzy animal and was in his hands moving forward, but felt he did all he could to prevent his mount trotting forward. M.J.M O'Sullivan stated that his mount refused to race on its previous run and he was conscious of him doing it again so he kept his mount moving forward, but felt he had obeyed the starters orders. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that C.J. McGivern, D.King, P.T. Smithers and M.J.M O'Sullivan were in breach of Rule 208, in that they disobeyed the starter. Having considered there respective records in this regard, the Raceday Stewards, suspended D.King for one raceday, C.J. McGivern for two racedays, P.T. Smithers for one raceday and M.J.M O'Sullivan for two racedays.
161E Dunlop Homes Rated Novice H'dleE. Walsh, rider of Hans Gruber (GB), trained by Ian Patrick Donoghue, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount sustained an injury after crossing the winning line.
161F Try Racing TV For Free Now H'cap H'dleThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Be My Hero, trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have been struck into above the left hock, but was otherwise post race normal.
161G Ir Stall Farms EBF (M)(PA) INH Flat RaceThe Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident about 3 and a half furlongs from the finish involving Gone For Tea, ridden by Mr D.G. Lavery and In A Little While, ridden by K. Callaghan where it appeared Gone For Tea got tight for room when going for a gap on the inner. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D.G. Lavery stated that there was plenty of room to go for the gap on the inside but it closed when he was half a length down and he had to check to avoid clipping a heel. K. Callaghan felt there wasn't room for a horse on his inner and stated that he manoeuvered closer to the rail without being aware Gone For Tea was on his inner. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found K. Callaghan was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden Improperly, and having considered his record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards suspended him for 3 racedays.
Mr F. Maguire, rider of Sheemore, trained by Patrick Martin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung violntly left and his saddle slipped.
N.J. Ryan, rider of Nagambler, trained by Neill McCluskey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly.
