J.P. O'Sullivan, rider of Sandy Montana, trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped a hurdle on the way to the start.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed J.P. O'Sullivan, rider, in relation to a report he made at the scales regarding he jumped a hurdle on the way to the start. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. J.P O'Sullivan stated that Sandy Montana was having her first run on the racetrack and got a run on him downhill towards the hurdle at the bottom of the hill and had no option only to jump it. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation.
160D Tote Always SP Or Better H'cap S'chaseA.P. Kelly, rider of Diamondinthemud, trained by Nigel Thomas Slevin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled and jumped poorly.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Diamondinthemud, trained by Nigel Thomas Slevin, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
160E Racing TV Opportunity Beginners S'chaseK.E Buckley, rider of Magheralin Mick, trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lost his action and was pulled up.
160F Tennents NI H'cap S'chaseThe Raceday Stewards enquired into the start of this race where K. Callaghan, rider of Iridescent, J.G. Gilligan, rider of Dukehill, D. King, rider of Likable Chancer, L.Quinlan rider of Chief Seattle, A.P. Kelly rider of Ardhill, B.P. Kennedy, rider of Fr Gilligansvoyge (GB) and M.M. McDonagh, rider of Agirlcalledchloe, appeared to disobey the starters orders resulting in a false start. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence K. Callaghan stated that his mount carried him forward into a trot. A.P. Kelly stated that he took back when horses around him moved forward. J.G. Gilligan stated that he used his whip to encourage his mount forward but felt he took back in line with other riders. L. Quinlan stated that he was in the second row and didnt follow the horses in front of him. D. King stated that he felt he kept in line with the horses around him. M.M. McDonogh stated that his mount can be leary and he was just trying to keep his mount going forward. B.P. Kennedy stated that he felt he complied with the starters orders. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that K.Callaghan, J.G.Gilligan, D. King, B.P.Kennedy,and M.M McDonagh, were in breach of Rule 208 in that they disobeyed the starters orders. Having taken their respective records into consideration the Raceday Stewards suspended K.Callaghan for two racedays, J.G. Gilligan for one raceday, D. King for one raceday. B.P Kennedy for three racedays and M.M.McDonogh for two racedays.
