Following a request from broadcasters, the Stewards granted permission for the following delays: Race four + 1 minute

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Coole Og, trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Hot As Pepper, trained by John C. McConnell, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have blood at the nostrils post race, possibly as a result of exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage.

P. Townend, rider of Coole Og trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled, made several jumping errors and lost its action.

The Stewards reviewed an incident at the last flight involving Yenillik, ridden by Rachael Blackmore and Military Hill, ridden by M.M. McDonagh, where it appeared that Yenillik dived towards the gap of the fallen hurdle and may have hampered Military Hill. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Stewards were satisfied that any interference that occurred was accidental and that no further action was warranted.

The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. D. Maher, that T. Reilly, rider of Clonguile Way, had weighed in at 1.6lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that this was the case and stated that he had a drink of water after he had weighed out and did not realise how much it would add to his weight. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that T. Reilly was in breach of Rule 231 and having considered his record in this regard the Stewards suspended T. Reilly for one raceday.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Uncle Phil, ridden by Miss J. Townend, placed second, Rexem, ridden by Mr B. W. Harvey, placed third, and Country Queen, ridden by Mr H.C. Swan, placed first, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Miss. J. Townend stated that she suffered interference and felt it cost her a lot of momentum and a couple of lengths. Mr. B. W. Harvey stated that he just had to switch and it did not cost him anything. Mr. H. C. Swan stated that his mount veered left and tried to run out when it hit the front. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that while Country Queen had caused interference to Uncle Phil she did not improve her finishing position as a result of this interference so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Realistic Optimism, trained by Ross O'Sullivan, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

Mr E.P. O'Brien, rider of Diamond Union (GB) trained by E. J. O'Grady, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left throughout.
