Steven Clements Appeal
Killultagh, Old Rock and Chichester (H) 14th April 2007
The Appeals Body Division 2 with Mr. J.R. Craigie in the Chair, Mr. P.N. Reynolds and Mrs. T.K. Cooper, met in the Stewards Room in the Curragh Racecourse to consider an appeal from Mr. S. Clements, Qualified Rider against the Decision of the Acting Stewards at Killultagh, Old Rock and Chichester (H) Point to Point meeting on Saturday 14th April 2007, when following the running of the Confined Hunts Winners Race, the Stewards found that Mr. Clements was in breach of Regulation 33 (v) and they suspended him for 5 Point to Point days and fined him €500.
The Committee heard evidence from Mr. Clements rider of Ballyhill Boy, placed second, Mr. Paul Murtagh, and Mr. A.L. McKeever Stewards Secretaries on duty and a DVD of the race was also viewed.
Having considered all the evidence, the Committee dismissed the Appeal and ordered Mr. Clements to pay €500 towards the legal costs incurred by the Turf Club.
