The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident early in the home straight involving Blizzard Of Oz, ridden by D.E. Mullins, placed third, Lombron (FR), ridden by S.F. O'Keeffe, placed fourth, and Staffordshire Knot, ridden by Sam Ewing, unplaced, where it appeared Lombron ran short of room momentarily. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. S.F. O'Keeffe stated that it got tight from both sides and he had to take back but he was not travelling well enough to fill the gap. D.E. Mullins stated that he held his line the whole way up the straight. Sam Ewing stated that he kept as straight as possible. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards gave D.E. Mullins the benefit of the doubt on this occasion and took no further action.
P.J. O'Hanlon, rider of Ottoman Style (GB), trained by Dermot Anthony McLoughlin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Ottoman Style (GB), trained by Dermot Anthony McLoughlin, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be clinically abnormal post race.
At the request of the Raceday Stewards, K.M. Donoghue, rider of Ataboycharlie, trained by Edward Cawley, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount jumped left throughout.
378B Kieron Gammel Naas Member H'cap S'chaseThe Raceday Stewards granted a request from John Patrick Ryan, trainer of Marlpark and Love Like This, for an additional ten minutes to present his runners for identification by an IHRB Official in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90.
378C Sign Up To GavinLynchRacing.com Mdn HdleThe Raceday Stewards received a report from IHRB Veterinary Officer, Ms. J. Taylor, that she was unable to positively identify Krak, trained by S.R.B. Crawford. Evidence was heard from the IHRB Veterinary Officer and Ross Crawford, Authorised Representative for S.R.B. Crawford. Ms. J. Taylor stated that she was unable to identify the horse as she couldn't find the microchip. Ross Crawford stated that he was unable to account for the missing microchip as they had not encountered the problem before. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Krak under Rule 90(iv) and referred the matter on to a Senior Racing Official.
378D Bar One Racing Guar. Multiples Mdn H'dleThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Hearts And Spades (FR), trained by C.A.Murphy, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed K.M. Donoghue, rider of Hills Of Glory, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the Whip Regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that K.M. Donoghue was in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his clean record in this regard, they suspended him for two racedays.
E. Walsh, rider of Battle Roar, trained by Ciaran Murphy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly.
W.J. Burke, trainer of Kerlogue, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge was found to have mucous in its trachea following endoscopic examination.
378F John Thomas McNamara Series (QR) Hcp HdlThe Raceday Stewards interviewed M. Flannery, trainer of Cornmarket, regarding the late arrival of the horse into the Parade Ring without permission to do so, and also the animals late arrival at the start which contributed to a delay to the off time in this race. Evidence was heard from the trainer who stated that he had tack issues when saddling his charge which caused him considerable delay and apologised for his actions. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that M. Flannery was in breach of Rule 32(ii)(late into the parade ring) and Rule 205(i)(late to the start). Having considered his clean record in both these regards, the Raceday Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr C.J. Shine, rider of Added Bonus, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the Whip Regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Mr C.J. Shine was in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his clean record in this regard, they suspended him for three racedays.
378G Irish EBF Auction (Pro-Am) Flat RaceThe Raceday Stewards enquired from Mr W.T. Cronin rider of Five Year Plan who fell on the flat in this race, and Miss G. Benson rider of Full Contact, who appeared to be brought down in the same incident. Mr W.T. Cronin reported that his mount sustained an injury and fell independently of any other horse. Miss G. Benson confirmed that her mount was hampered by the faller which brought her mount down. Having considered the reports and viewed a recording of the race, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the home straight involving Romany Brown, ridden by E. Dwan, placed third, Trendy Workforce, ridden by Mr J.L. Scallan, placed sixth, and The Lookout Man, ridden by Mr R. James, placed fifth, where it appeared Trendy Workforce ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr J.L. Scallan stated that he didn't have the horse to hold the gap. E. Dwan stated that his mount rolled around but didn't cause any interference. Mr R. James stated that he kept a straight line. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action other than to remind Mr R. James and Mr J.L. Scallan of their responsibilities under Rule 272 concerning their accuracy with regards evidence in future.
