The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Journey So Far, trained by Gavin Cromwell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Belle The Tigress, trained by Henry de Bromhead, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident jumping the last involving Gillane, ridden by M.J.M O'Sullivan, placed third, Belle The Tigress, ridden by Rachael Blackmore, placed sixth, and Stretchemout, ridden by D.J Gilligan, placed fifth, where it appeared Stretchemout received contact from both sides while jumping the flight. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
S. Cleary-Farrell, rider of Scodar (FR), trained by James M. Barrett, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries, via the Starter, that his mount jumped a hurdle on the way to the start despite his best efforts to prevent him from doing so. Having viewed a recording of the incident and considered the matter the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
016B Langtons Kilkenny H'cap H'dleThe Raceday Stewards interviewed T. Power Roche, rider of Ar Nos Na Gaoithe, in relation to his riding in the closing stages where it appeared he may have stopped riding and lost a better finishing position. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that his mount had no more to give and had made an abnormal respiratory noise close to the line, which he had reported to scales. Having looked into the matter there was no record of a report from the rider at scales. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards accepted T. Power Roche's explanation in relation to Rule 212 but they were satisfied that T. Power Roche was in breach of Rule 213, and having considered his clean record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended T. Power Roche for one raceday.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Eikonix (GB), at the request of trainer, Bernard Martin Crowley, and reported the animal to be showing signs of delayed recovery post race.
016C John Mulhern Galmoy H'dleThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Hiddenvalley Lake, trained by Henry de Bromhead, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Maxxum, ridden by Sam Ewing, placed sixth, and Rocky's Diamond, ridden by S. Fitzgerald, placed first, where it appeared Rocky's Diamond drifted across into Maxxum. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Sam Ewing stated that his race was run when he received interference. S. Fitzgerald stated that his mount was green and drifted right but that he should have done more to correct it. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found S. Fitzgerald was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard (second offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended S. Fitzgerald for four racedays.
Paul John Gilligan, trainer of Buddy One, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge made an abnormal respiratory noise in running.
016D Goffs Thyestes H'cap S'chaseD.E. Mullins, rider of MacDermott (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount jinked after the start of this race and he was unseated. Having viewed a recording of the incident and considered the matter the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that D. E. Mullins was unseated after the flag had been dropped and the tape released and therefore no further action was warranted.
The Raceday Stewards reviewed the fields first approach to the starter where it appeared the field had proceeded beyond a walk before the flag was raised. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any one rider and took no further action.
016E Daly Farrell Accountants Beg. S'chaseThe Raceday Stewards interviewed Henry de Bromhead, trainer of Lady Bresil, in relation to the late arrival of his charge into the parade ring resulting in a delay to the start of this race. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that one of his riders was last to weigh out and there had also been an issue with one of the girths. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Henry De Bromhead was in breach of Rule 32 and Rule 205 and having considered his clean record in regard to both rules the Raceday Stewards cautioned Henry De Bromhead in relation to each offence.
016F Adare Manor Opportunity H'cap H'dleR.A. Berry, rider of Getaway Charlie, trained by Timothy Doyle, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a bad mistake at the second down the back straight.
P. Hanlon, rider of Diamboy Des Carres (FR), trained by Sean Thomas Doyle, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount raced too free.
R.J. Condon, rider of Kells Priory, trained by Louise G. Lyons, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed L. Quinlan, rider of Heliko Conti (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that his mount was lugging in behind but accepted he was in breach of the Regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that L. Quinlan was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g (excessive frequency) and having considered his record in this regard (first offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended L. Quinlan for eight racedays.
