D.J. O'Keeffe, rider of Solitary Man, trained by E. Bolger, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel. This was subsequently confirmed by the IHRB Veterinary Officer who also reported the animal to be lame on its right fore.
The IHRB Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Coko Beach (FR) trained by Gordon Elliott was found to have cuts to its left and right hind legs and also to have pulled a hind shoe.
360B I.N.H. Stallion Owners EBF Mdn HdleJ.W. Kennedy, rider of Masterboy Davis (FR), trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.
360D BetVictor Craddockstown Novice S'chasePrior to the meeting, the Raceday Stewards approved a request from Clerk Of The Course, Mr. Brendan Sheridan, to amend the distance of this race to 2 miles and 71 yards due to rail alignment.
360E John Durkan Memorial Punchestown S'chaseThe Raceday Stewards reviewed the closing stages of this race involving Fact To File (FR), ridden by M.P. Walsh, placed first, and Spillane's Tower, ridden by J.W. Kennedy, placed second, where it appeared the two came close together. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the turn for home involving Fact To File (FR), ridden by M.P. Walsh, placed first, and Fastorslow (FR), ridden by Mr. D. O'Connor, placed fourth, where it appeared Fact To File ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. M P. Walsh stated that he ran short of room and hit the rail. Mr. D. O'Connor stated that his mount cut the corner to follow the lead horse but he accepted that he was in breach of the rule and apologised. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found Mr. D. O'Connor was in breach of Rule 214, in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended Mr. D. O'Connor for two racedays.
The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Grangeclare West, trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
360F Pertemps Network Group H'cap H'dleThe Raceday Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. P.L. Malone, that F. Brickley, rider of Slanagaibhgoleir, had presented to weigh out despite being on the alert sheet (the method of recording riders declared unfit to ride). Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who confirmed that he was due to meet his surgeon next Tuesday. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not allow the rider to ride in accordance with the provisions of Rule 125 (ii) and they were satisfied that F. Brickley was in breach of Regulation 11 and having considered his clean record in this regard the Raceday Stewards fined F. Brickley €250 on this occasion. Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards received a request from G. Elliott, trainer of Slanagaibhgoleir, to replace the nominated rider with S. Ewing and they allowed this request.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident after jumping the second last involving Karl Des Tourelles (FR), ridden by B. Hayes, placed second, Talk In The Park, ridden by T.P. Harney, placed sixth, Real Steel (FR), ridden by C.P. McNamara, unplaced, Slanagaibhgoleir, ridden by S. Ewing, placed fourth, and Whatsavailable, ridden by D.J. O'Keeffe, unplaced, where it appeared Real Steel clipped a heel. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. B. Hayes stated that he kept his line and did not cause any interference. T.P. Harney stated that he received no pressure and kept his line. C.P. McNamara did not apportion blame to any rider. S. Ewing stated that he kept his line. D.J. O'Keeffe stated that his race was run and he did not cause any interference. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that the incident was caused by the retreating horses being passed and they did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action.
S.W. Flanagan, rider of Will Wilde (FR), trained by Liz Doyle, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly.
