Sam Ewing, rider of Dinamine trained by Michael Mulvany, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ducked right from the stalls.
The Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving Medway (GB), ridden by D. McMonagle, placed fifth and Jazz Dreamers, ridden by D.E. Sheehy, placed first, where it appeared Medway (GB) ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D. McMonagle stated that his mount travelled well into the straight but in the latter stages he didn't have the horse to go forward and Jazz Dreamers rolled in a little bit at the road. D.E. Sheehy stated that his mount leaned slightly left due to the undulating track but as he approached the road he put both hands back on the reins. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the incident was caused by accidental interference and took no further action.
170C www.ratoathvets.ie H'capR.P. Whelan, rider of Alice Milligan trained by Mark Michael McNiff, reported to the Clerk of Scales that he took a precautionary check on the turn into the straight.
The Stewards enquired into an incident on the turn into the straight involving Alice Milligan, ridden by R.P. Whelan, unplaced and Slade Runner, ridden by Sam Ewing, unplaced, where it appeared Alice Milligan had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. R.P. Whelan stated that his instructions were to make the running, his mount is not an easy horse and had done a lot of racing by the time the incident occured which he felt was a caused by the horses on the inner rolling out and the horses on the outer rolling in. Sam Ewing, who gave his evidence in the presence of F.M. Berry, stated that his mount jumped away well and travelled for him. When he took his hands off the reins his mount shifted out, he put his hands back on the reins and straightened his mount as much as he could. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards considered that the incident was caused by accidental interference and took no further action.
170D Irish EBF Auction Series M'dnThe Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving Threebagsfull, ridden by J.A. Powell, placed first, Might And Mercy (GB), ridden by C.T. Keane, placed second and Tommorah, ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed sixth, where it appeared Tommorah got bumped. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. C.D. Hayes stated that his mount got a bump but had not fully acted on the track and over exaggerated. C.T. Keane stated that he followed C.D. Hayes's mount and saw the winner quicken up on the inner but he felt his own mount kept a straight course. J.A. Powell stated that a gap presented itself in the straight and his colt quickened through it before becoming a bit unbalanced. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards considered the incident to have been caused by accidental interference and took no further action.
Mr. P.D. Matthews, Acting Steward, absented himself from this enquiry.
