P. Byrnes, rider of Wonder Laish (GB) trained by C.Byrnes, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was never happy on the ground.
S.D. Torrens, rider of Hooklinesinker trained by J.F. Levins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Wonder Laish (GB), trained by C.Byrnes, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis.
231B J.J.Burke Peugeot 3-Y-O M'dn H'dleThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Figaruso, trained by Joe Conlon, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
231C Carney's Eating House M'dn H'dleP.T. Enright, rider of Champagne Trail trained by T.J. O'Mara, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a bad mistake two out.
The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Estepona Sun (GB), ridden by P. Byrnes, and trained by C.Byrnes. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. P. Byrnes, stated that his instructions were to line up in fifth or sixth, get settled as his mount does not fully see out the 2m trip. In the race he jumped off as planned, settled into a rhythm, missed a few hurdles down the back and stayed on one-paced in the straight. C.Byrnes, confirmed the instructions given to the rider and expressed his satisfaction with the ride given. He stated that the horse was ridden to get the trip and is an in and out performer. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Estepona Sun (GB) was post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations given.
231D Cummins Homevalue Hardware H'cap H'dleR. Deegan, rider of Elite Des Mottes (FR) trained by Eoin Christopher McCarthy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly.
Oliver McKiernan, trainer of Fox Fearless (GB), reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge lost a shoe in-running
231G Burleigh Accountancy H'cap H'dleThe Stewards reviewed an incident in the straight involving Slige Dala, ridden by J.J. Slevin, and Noble Birth (GB), ridden by J.W. Kennedy where it appeared horses came close together. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
