G.B. Noonan, rider of Missiee, trained by Eoin Christopher McCarthy, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount sustained an injury and was pulled up immediately.
053C Well Done Irish Cheltenham Wnrs. Hcp SchThe Raceday Stewards reviewed the closing stages of this race involving Friends N Commerce, ridden by P.K. Donovan, placed second, and Ernie From Nurney, ridden by P.T. Smithers, placed third, where it appeared P.T. Smithers struck P.K. Donovan with his whip after jumping the last fence. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that the incident was accidental and that no further action was warranted.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Mick Charlie, trained by Declan Queally, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed P.K. Donovan, rider of Friends N Commerce, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that he was in breach of Regulation 10 and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that P.K. Donovan was in breach of Regulation 10.3.(g)(frequency) and having considered his clean record they suspended him for one raceday.
N.T. Prendergast, rider of Ella Rose, trained by D E Prendergast, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a bad mistake at the third last.
053D Adare Manor Opportunity M'dn H'dleThe Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference jumping the last hurdle involving An Peann Dearg, ridden by J.P. O'Sullivan, placed fourth and Gabriel Ranger, ridden by M.P. O'Connor, placed fifth, where it appeared that An Peann Dearg landed right causing interference to Gabriel Ranger. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. M.P. O'Connor stated that his mount suffered interference at the last causing him to lose momentum before battling back in the closing stages to within a short-head of An Peann Dearg. He concluded by stating that he felt the interference had cost him a better finishing position. J.P.O'Sullivan stated that his mount landed right despite his best efforts, but felt he had not improved his finishing position as a result of the incident. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that An Peann Dearg had caused interference albeit it accidental to Gabriel Ranger and as a result of this interference had improved it’s finishing position. As a consequence, the Raceday Stewards reversed the placings of both horses. Amended result:

Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no riding offence had occurred and that no further action was warranted.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Temptationinmilan, trained by C.Byrnes, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Raceday Stewards fined Mrs Denise Foster, trainer €65 for failing fit the declared cheekpieces to Smackwater Jack, prior to entering the parade ring.
