G. Brouder, rider of Must Meet At Mals, trained by Patrick J. F. Hassett, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his saddle slipped and was pulled up.
P. Townend, rider of Vadsa Queen, trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran keen in the early stages of this race.
279B Seamus Mulvaney Bookmaker Novice H'dleP. Townend, rider of Bialystok, trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Bialystok, trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis.
279D Ballygarry Estate (Mares) Novice S'chaseThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Heia (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be showing signs of coming into season post race.
279E Guinness Kerry National H'cap S'chaseThe Raceday Stewards received a request from Gordon Elliott, trainer of Gevrey (FR), to substitute the nominated rider B. Hayes, with D.J. Gilligan, due to his intended mount being a non runner. Having considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards denied the request on this occasion as Mr. Hayes presented himself to weigh out and they were not satisfied that the request was a valid one in accordance with the provisions of Regulation 3.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed Ms. Zoe Smalley, Authorised Representative for Henry de Bromhead, trainer, in relation to the withdrawal of Toss Again, who was withdrawn at 14.48 owing to the change in going, to ascertain if it could have been made at an earlier stage allowing for a declared reserve to run in this race. Evidence was heard from Ms. Smalley who stated that her charge was present at the races and the intention was to run the animal despite having concerns over the slower ground conditions until heavy showers of rain fell and the trainer felt he had no option but to withdraw the horse. Having considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
B. Hayes, rider of Gevrey (FR), trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a bad mistake three out and was pulled up afterwards.
279G Listowel Vintners Assoc. INH Flat RaceThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Traditude Tara, trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Raceday Stewards received a report from Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Starter, Mr. Derek Cullen, that Mr J.P. O'Rourke, rider of Chosen Templar put his mount into a canter before he dropped the flag causing a false start. Evidence was heard from the starter and rider concerned. In his evidence, Mr. J.P. O'Rourke accepted that he was in breach of Rule 208 and apologised for his actions. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Mr. J.P. O'Rourke was in breach of Rule 208(iii)(b) and having considered his record they suspended him for one raceday.
Mr E.P. O'Brien, rider of Isolde's Voice, trained by Sean Aherne, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a respiratory noise and was pulled up.
