The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

H.D. McGuigan, trainer of Ransom (GB) (late withdrawal) - €200

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

R. P. Whelan rode Scholarship (reserve) trained by Gerard O'Leary (Race 5)

215A COLM QUINN BMW Novice H'dle

P. Townend, rider of Gaucher (GB), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran too free.

R.A. Doyle, rider of Evening's Empire, trained by Eddie & Patrick Harty, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left and jumped left.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Al Gasparo (FR), trained by Gavin Cromwell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Raceday Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. P. L. Malone, that R.A. Doyle, rider of Evening's Empire, had weighed in 1.7lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he was doing light and had taken on too much fluids after weighing out, having also had a run on the track. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that R. A. Doyle was in breach of Rule 231(iii) and having considered his record in this regard (second offence), the Raceday Stewards suspended R. A. Doyle for two racedays.

215B Latin Quarter Beginners S'chase

M.J.M O'Sullivan, rider of Jet Setting Jim, trained by John Queally, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was badly impeded from his outside at the second fence. Having viewed a recording of the incident and considered the matter the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

215E COLM QUINN BMW Mile H'cap

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Emporio, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped slowly from the stalls.

Adam Caffrey, rider of Enough Already (GB), trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away.

215G Caulfield Industrial H'cap

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving A Shin Undine, ridden by S. Foley, unplaced, La Tulipe Noire, ridden by D.S. O'Sullivan, unplaced, and Charlie Brow'n (FR), ridden by W.M. Lordan, unplaced, where it appeared Charlie Brow'n had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. S. Foley stated that his race was run and he took a precautionary check. D. S. O'Sullivan stated that his mount ran around under pressure and he did his best to keep it straight. W. M. Lordan stated that he took a precautionary check. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found D. S. O'Sullivan, was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard (first offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended him for two race days. D. S. O'Sullivan was accompanied at this enquiry by Mr. Danny O'Sullivan.

R. Whearty, rider of River Derwent (GB), trained by Thomas Coyle, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount missed the break.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Mark Fahey, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Clear Quartz, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Mark Fahey stated that his charge has a particular fondess for this track and saves his best for here. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.
