The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

S. Foley rode Tofino (reserve) trained by Gavin Cromwell (Race 1)

250A Irish EBF Median Sires Series (F) M'dn

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Medici Venus (USA), ridden by W.M. Lordan, placed fourth, Celtic Motif, ridden by D. McMonagle, placed second, and Twolatebabydoll (FR), ridden by J.M. Sheridan, placed third, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence W.M. Lordan stated that things got a bit tight for room inside the closing stages. D. McMonagle stated that his mount leaned a little left under a righthand drive but felt he corrected her quickly. J.M. Sheridan stated that he firstly got a bump from Medici Venus and then further pressure from his outside. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Celtic Motif had caused interference to both Medici Venus and Twolatebabydoll and as a result of this interference had improved it’s finishing position in relation to Twolatebabydoll and as a consequence, they reversed the placings of the second and third placed horses and amended the result to read as follows:
Amended Result:
First: Garden Of Eden
Second: Twolatebabydoll
Third: Celtic Motif
Fourth: Medici Venus
Fifth: Shelbiana
Sixth: Pleasant Dawn

Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that no riding offence had occurred and therefore took no further action.

W.M. Lordan, rider of Medici Venus (USA), trained by A.P.O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got a bit tight for room.

250D Tally-Ho Stud Irish EBF Ballyogan Stakes

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident inside the final two furlongs involving Apricot Ice, ridden by G.F. Carroll, unplaced, Firebird (GB), ridden by W.J. Lee, placed second, and Wide With Delight, ridden by B.M. Coen, unplaced where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence B.M. Coen stated that he received contact from his outside forcing him to check. G.F. Carroll stated that his filly rolled right and left but felt it was marginal. W.J. Lee stated that the movement of Apricot Ice forced him left causing him to make contact with Wide With Delight inside him. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that the incident was caused by Apricot Ice momentarily hanging left after Firebird had committed to filling the gap resulting in Wide With Delight running short of room and did not apportion blame to any rider and therefore took no further action.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Nighteyes, trained by David O'Meara (in GB), at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident inside the final two furlongs involving Lismacbryan Hill, ridden by R.C. Colgan, unplaced, and Only A Star, ridden by C.D. Maxwell, unplaced, where it appeared C.D. Maxwell had to sit momentarily as Lismacbryan Hill hung left towards the rail . The Raceday Stewards interviewed S. McAteer, rider of Bang Po, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, in the presence of L.T. McAteer, trainer and master of the rider. S. McAteer stated was having his third ride, was racing alone on the far rail and thought he was in contention when this was not the case. He further apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards accepted the riders explanation on this occasion having considered his inexperience and took no further action other than to remind S. The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Paul Traynor, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Fiver Friday, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Paul Traynor, trainer stated that Fiver Friday got very worked up at Down Royal and misbehaved before the race.
