J. Kearney, rider of Blacksmiths Forge, trained by Gerard Keane, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right under pressure.
The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident close to the line involving Blacksmiths Forge, ridden by J. Kearney, placed third, and Love Like This, ridden by S. 243D McDermott Farm Machinery H'cap H'dleThe Raceday Stewards requested a report from Noel C. Kelly, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of That's Me Finished, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Noel C. Kelly reported that the ease in the ground and what he felt was a lesser race may have helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation given.
243E Francie 'Banger' Burns H'cap H'dleThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Walk Away Harry, trained by C.Byrnes, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis.
C.M Hogan, rider of Storm Mahler, trained by E. McNamara, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed Anthony McCann, trainer of Luminous Light (GB), concerning the conduct of this horse who was reluctant to start. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that his charge had never done this before. The Raceday Stewards advised Anthony McCann that a repeat performance from his charge, may render the animal liable to a suspension in the future. The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Luminous Light, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
P. Byrnes, rider of Walk Away Harry, trained by C.Byrnes, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount couldn't lie up with the pace.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed the Racecourse manager, Kathryn Foley, and the Girth man concerning the start of this race, where it appeared the Girth man may have made contact with the hind quarters of Luminous Light with a piece of leather. Evidence was heard from both Kathryn Foley and the Girth man who accepted his behaviour was inappropriate and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards reminded both of their obligations and took no further action.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Norman Lee, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Shuil Na Tra, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Norman Lee reported that the horses are in better form at home and the ease in the ground may have helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation given.
E. Dwan, rider of Safran Et Bleu, trained by P.M.J.Doyle, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount pulled up lame after the line.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on approach to the second last hurdle with a circuit to race involving Safran Et Bleu, ridden by E. Dwan, placed fifth, and But What About Me, ridden by R.P. Geoghegan, fell, where it appeared Safran Et Bleu kicks out and swishes his tail. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. E. Dwan stated that he didn't know what was going on behind him and felt that it did not contribute to his mount pulling up lame. R.P. Geoghegan stated that he was not clipping heels and would have pulled back if he thought he was doing so. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action other than to advise R.P. Geoghegan to ride with more care in the future.
