Dylan Johnston, rider of Laralei (GB) trained by Noel C. Kelly, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made an abnormal respiratory noise in running.
The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Visionarian, ridden by K.C. Sexton, placed second and Riviere D'etel (FR), ridden by J.W. Kennedy, placed third, where it appeared that interfernce may have occoured. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action.
013B1 Graigs Lane M'dn HdleThe Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Politicianspromise, trained by M.P. Collins, for failing to comply with the provisions of Rule 90 (i) (late to present animal).
The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Brazos (USA), ridden by K.J. Brouder, placed first and Folcano (FR), ridden by J.W. Kennedy, placed second, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the judges placings. They did however find K.J. Brouder in breach of rule 214, in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered K.J. Brouder's record in this regard the Stewards suspended K.J. Brouder for two racedays.
At the request of the Stewards, D.F. O'Regan, rider of Wa Wa, trained by D.M. Christie, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was coming off the back of a very disappointing run and was ridden today to get home in the testing conditions. Furthermore he added that he was instructed to drop his mount in but was then unable to make up ground in the straight.
013B2 Graigs Lane M'dn HdleAt the request of the Stewards, D.F. O'Regan, rider of Keep 'Em Lit, trained by B.R. Hamilton, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount travelled well early on and handled todays going but got very tired after the last.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Golden Ode trained by S.M O'Donoghue was found to have blood at the nostrils post race.
013C Navan H'cap H'dleThe Stewards interviewed B.J. Cooper, rider of Mon Lino (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that B.J. Cooper was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency. Having considered B.J. Cooper's record in this regard the Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.
013D Ardmulchan H'cap H'dleThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Glenabo Bridge, trained by Oliver McKiernan, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
R.M. Power, rider of Handsworth trained by J.P. Dempsey, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount stopped quickly and was pulled up.
013E Wilkinstown Beginners S'chaseThe Stewards requested a report from Mrs. John Harrington, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Mr Hendricks, placed first, as compared with its most recent run. Niall Amond, authorised representative for Mrs. John Harrington reported that their charge seems to have a preference for going left handed and has previously won here. Furthermore, He added that the only reason they could attribute to the very disappointing performance at Punchestown on the 31st of December was going right-handed. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation given.
013F Gormanlough H'cap S'chaseThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Miracle In Medinah (GB), trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Johnnys Girl, trained by Norman Lee, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis.
E. Walsh, rider of Ask And Answer trained by Sean Aherne, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a bad mistake at the fourth last.
The Stewards interviewed A.W. Short, rider of Dubai Devils, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that A.W. Short was in breach of Regulation 10.3.d, in that he had hit his mount after the winning post had been reached. Having considered A.W. Short's record in this regard the Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.
013G Slane (Pro-Am) INH Flat RaceThe Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Miss. Colleen Murphy, that Mr T. Feeney, rider of The Higher Road, had weighed in at three pounds overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that this was the case. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Mr. T. Feeney was in breach of Rule 231(iii) and having considered his record in this regard the Stewards suspended Mr T. Feeney for one raceday.
