094B Kilberry Apprentice H'cap
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident about one hundred and fifty yards from the finish involving Gobi Star, ridden by P.A. Harnett, unplaced, Pretty Boy Floyd, ridden by A.C. Persse, unplaced, and Catherine Chroi, ridden by Tom Kiely Marshall, unplaced, where it appeared that Gobi Star drifted onto the racing line of Catherine Chroi. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, Tom Kiely Marshall stated that his mount did not pick up inside the final furlong and was pushed when Gobi Star gradually came across her. A.C. Persse stated that his mount emptied when racing down the hill and did not receive any interference. P.A. Harnett stated that he brought his mount wide to the stand side to deliver his challenge but on reaching the front, he changed leads and went left. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found that P.A. Harnett was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards cautioned P.A. Harnett on this occasion.
