357B www.thurlesraces.ie H'cap S'chaseThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Baltinglass Hill, trained by P.J. Rothwell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident on the approach to the final fence involving Freddie Robdal, ridden by E.M. O'Sullivan, placed fourth, and Ricky Langford, ridden by S.D. Torrens, placed third, where it appeared the two horses came close together. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
357D Irish Stallion Farms EBF (M) M'dn H'dleJ.W. Kennedy, rider of Fillusin, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left from the second last.
S.W. Flanagan, rider of Paudie's Wings, trained by David Harry Kelly, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made several bad mistakes.
The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident shorly after jumping the last hurlde involving Reina Del Mar, ridden by R. Deegan, placed fifth, Ad Caelum, ridden by S.F. O'Keeffe, placed third, and Poetic Focus, ridden by S. Cleary-Farrell, placed sixth, where it appeared Poetic Focus ran short of room momentarily. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that the incident was caused by Reina Del Mar shifting right after a bad mistake and took no further action.
357E ThurlesRaces.ie H'cap H'dleThe Raceday Stewards interviewed J. Smith, rider of Ragin Cajun, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the Whip Regulation and stated that he miscounted how many horses were in front of him. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that J. Smith was in breach of R.10.3(b)(out of contention) and having considered his record in this regard (second offence), they suspended him for four racedays.
At the request of the Raceday Stewards, Mr D. Doyle, rider of Delias Pet, trained by Timothy Doyle, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount is always ridden cold but ended up too far back.
