099E Alanna Homes Champion Novice HdleThe Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident over and away from the last involving High Definition, ridden by J.J. Slevin, placed second, and Impaire Et Passe (FR), ridden by P. Townend, placed first, where it appeared that High Definition hit the rail and stumbled. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J. J. Slevin stated that he had enough room but his mount jumped slow and lugged in after the flight causing him to hit the rail. P. Townend stated that he jumped the flight better and was clear of High Definition. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
J.J. Slevin, rider of High Definition, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lugged right and hit the rail causing him to stumble.
099F Irish Daily Star Champion Hunters SchaseThe Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr M.J. Love, rider of Down The Highway, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that he was in breach and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Mr. M. J. Love was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, (excessive frequency) and having considered his record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.
099G SalesSense International Novice H'dleOwing to the low lying sun, the Raceday Stewards granted permission for hurdles two and three to be omitted from this race
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Sa Majeste (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
D.J Gilligan, rider of Firm Footings, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel and this was subsequently confirmed by the IHRB Veterinary Officer.
P. Townend, rider of Uncle Phil, trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran keen throughout the race.
099H Avison Young INH Flat RaceThe Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident approximately four furlongs out involving Ilitch (FR), ridden by Mr D.G. Lavery, unplaced, Irish Panther (GB), ridden by Mr J.L. Gleeson, placed second, and Quantum Storm, ridden by Mr H.C. Swan, placed fourth, where it appeared Llitch got tight for room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr. D. G. Lavery stated that his run had come to an end and he did not have the horse to hold his position but he was squeezed up. Mr. J. L. Gleeson stated that he thought he was clear of the horse on his inner. Mr. H. C. Swan stated that he kept his line and caused no interference. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found Mr. J. L. Gleeson, was in breach of Rule 214, in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards suspended Mr. J. L. Gleeson for three racedays.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident about four furlongs out involving Bold Brook, ridden by Mr F. Maguire, unplaced, and Irish Panther (GB), ridden by Mr J.L. Gleeson, placed second where it appeared Bold Brook had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr. F. Maguire stated that his mount was very green and awkward and not able to hold his position. Mr. J. L. Gleeson stated that he was travelling well and caused no interference. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
