The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

097A Adare Manor Opportunity Final H'cap H'dl

The Stewards interviewed S. O'Callaghan, rider of Lucky Tenner, trained by Peter Fahey, concerning his riding when he continued to ride his mount to the last flight, at which it refused and fell, when his mount was tailed off and appeared tired. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he should have pulled his mount up and apologised for his actions. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that S. O'Callaghan was in breach of Rule 272(i). Having considered his record in this regard the Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.

Shane Fenelon, rider of Conron trained by Noel C. Kelly, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.

J.P. O'Sullivan, rider of Limerick Lace trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount whipped around at the start.

B. P. Kennedy, rider of Coolcullen trained by Brendan W.Duke, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.

The Stewards interviewed J.R. Wildman, rider of Humble Glory, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the regulation and apologised. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that J. R. Wildman was in breach of Regulation 10.3.f, excessive force and 10.3.b, out of contention. Having considered J. R. Wildmans' record in this regard the Stewards suspended J. R. Wildman for two racedays.

The Stewards received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Starter, Mr. J. R. Banahan, that Shane Fenelon, rider of Conron, P.J. O'Hanlon, rider of Aarons Day, K.E Buckley, rider of Midnight It Is (GB), Kieran Callaghan, rider of Dads Lad, J.P. O'Sullivan, rider of Limerick Lace, R.J. Condon, rider of Molly Wedger, E. Walsh, rider of Brazos (USA), C.G. O'Dwyer, rider of Guiri (GER), M.P. O'Connor, rider of Life In The Park, A.P. Kelly, rider of Priory Park, C.M. Quirke, rider of Whosgotyanow, D.P. Holden, rider of First Touch, A. McCurtin, rider of Francois (FR), J.R. Wildman, rider of Humble Glory, J.B. Kane, rider of Stumptown, G.B. Noonan, rider of Krabat, S. O'Callaghan, rider of Lucky Tenner, T.N. Brett, rider of Outback Flyer, N.J. Ryan, rider of Skippin Court, J.B. Foley, rider of Rock Road, S. Fitzgerald, rider of Thanksforthehelp (FR), J.G. Gilligan, rider of Vera Verto and B. P. Kennedy, rider of Coolcullen appeared to disobeyed his instructions. Evidence was heard from the starter. Having viewed the recording of the incidents and considered the evidence, the Stewards referred the matter to the C.E.O of the I.H.R.B for further investigation.

097B Connolly's RED MILLS EBF Auct.Hdle Final

The Stewards interviewed Sam Ewing, rider of Ambitious Fellow, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that his mount was leaning right in the straight and he pulled his whip through and used it in his right hand for corrective measures. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that while Sam Ewing had used his whip above the permitted limit they were satisfied that one strike was for corrective measure and they took no further action.

The Stewards interviewed S. O'Callaghan, rider of Rebel Ivy, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the regulation and apologised. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that S. O'Callaghan was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency and having considered his record in this regard the Stewards suspended S. O'Callaghan for six racedays.

P. Townend, rider of Glengouly (FR) trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a bad mistake three out and stopped quickly.

S.R.B. Crawford, trainer of Peaceful Sunday (FR), reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his charge scoped badly post race.

097C Louis Fitzgerald Hotel H'dle

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages of this race involving Classic Getaway, ridden by D.E. Mullins, placed second and Fils D'oudairies (FR), ridden by N. de Boinville, placed third, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D. E. Mullins stated that he manoeuvered towards the rail after the last and was not aware that Fils D'oudairiers was on his inner until there was contact, at which point he corrected his mount. N. De Boinville stated that he received a bump from his outer, rubbed the running rail and felt that it had cost him second place. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Classic Getaway had caused interference to Fils D'oudairies and as a result of this interference had improved it’s finishing position. As a consequence, the Stewards reversed the placings of the second and third placed horses and amended the result to read as follows:

First: Crosshill
Second: Fils D'oudairies
Third: Classic Getaway
Fourth: Champagne Gold
Fifth: Ganapathi
Sixth: Gibraltar
Furthermore, the Stewards were of the opinion that D. E. Mullins was in breach of Rule 214, in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard they suspended him for two racedays.

The Stewards interviewed R.M. Power, rider of Crosshill, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that R. M. Power was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency. Having considered R. M. Power's record in this regard the Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.

097D Irish Mirror Novice H'dle

J.W. Kennedy, rider of Minella Crooner, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount may have found todays going a bit quick.

097E Ladbrokes Punchestown Gold Cup

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Minella Indo, trained by Henry de Bromhead, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have lost a shoe in running and to be sore post race.

R.M. Power, rider of Minella Indo trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.

097F Race & Stay At Punchestown INH Flat Race

S.R.B. Crawford, trainer of Carnfunnock, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his charge scoped badly post race.

097H Weatherbys GSB EBF (Mares) INH Flat Race

The Stewards interviewed S.R.B. Crawford, trainer, in relation to the late withdrawal of Lily Du Berlais who was withdrawn at 19:00hrs due to the going. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that his two other runners today had run disappointingly, one of which had subsequently scoped badly while the other had mucus at the nostrils post race. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the withdrawal and took no further action.

The Stewards interviewed Mr B.W. Harvey, rider of Beyond Ambitious, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that Mr. B. W. Harvey was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency. Having considered Mr. B. W. Harvey's record in this regard the Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.

The Stewards interviewed Mr E.P. O'Brien, rider of Dorans Weir, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that Mr. E. P. O'Brien was in breach of Regulation 10.3.i, time to respond. Having considered Mr. E. P. O'brien's record in this regard the Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.
