The Raceday Stewards requested a report from A.J.Martin, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Putapoundinthejar, placed first, as compared with its most recent run. A.J. Martin reported that his charge did not appreciate the travelling on its last run in Kelso and seemed happier in himself today. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted its contents.
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Martin Hassett, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Battle Of Ridgeway, placed second, as compared with its last run. Martin Hassett reported that his charge didn't stay on its last run over two miles and four furlongs and the drop in trip today seemed to work. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted its contents.
102B Frontline Security H'cap S'chaseP. Townend, rider of Tullyhill (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.
S.F. O'Keeffe, rider of An Peann Dearg, trained by Paul Nolan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a couple of mistakes.
The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Tullyhill (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
102C Mongey Communications Schase (La Touche)The IHRB Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Benny The Duke trained by Mark John Scallan had blood at both nostrils post race.
102E Ladbrokes Champion Stayers H'dleThe Raceday Stewards enquired into the riders first approach to the start. Evidence was heard from J.J. Slevin, rider of Home By The Lee and J. Bowen, rider of Jetara. Both riders said their mounts jumped into canter despite their best efforts. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that both riders had made their best efforts to restrain their mounts so they took no further action.
102F Conway Piling H'cap H'dleMr D. McGill, rider of Building Bridges (GB), trained by Gary McGill, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident after jumping the third last involving Karl Des Tourelles (FR), ridden by B. Hayes, Beat The Bat, ridden by B. Carver, Stoner's Choice (GB), ridden by K.K. Woods, and Gabbys Cross, ridden by M.P. O'Connor where it appeared interference occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. B. Hayes said it got tight from both sides so he took back. B. Carver said he felt entitled to hold his ground. K.K. Woods said he held his line and was in front of the incident. M.P. O'Connor said he jumped into the gap on the inside before he was forced off the track. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found B. Carver was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden improperly and having considered his clean record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards suspended him for seven racedays.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident after jumping the last involving Jeriko Du Reponet (FR), ridden by J. Bowen, placed first, and Doddiethegreat, ridden by B.S. Hughes, placed second, where it appeared Doddiethegreat suffered interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J. Bowen said he thought he was clear of the horse on his inside when moving towards the rail. B.S. Hughes said he had to take a little check. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found J. Bowen was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his clean record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards suspended him for two racedays.
102G Close Brothers Irish EBF (M) Nov. H'dleMr D. Doyle, rider of Beauforts Storm, trained by Timothy Doyle, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.
102H JP & M Doyle (C&G) INH Flat RaceMr D.H. Dunsdon, rider of Edward Sexton, trained by Gary & Josh Moore (in GB), reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was very green and ran off the track.
The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Ksar Fatal (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
