J.W. Kennedy, rider of Pictures Of Home (GB), trained by T.M. Walsh, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.

The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Pictures Of Home (GB), trained by T.M. Walsh, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Raceday Stewards received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Starter, Mr. P. Moloney, that the front rank had proceeded to a canter before the flag was raised, resulting in a false start. Evidence was heard from the starter and riders concerned. Mr. P. Moloney stated that the front row had gone before he put up the flag. G. Brouder, rider of Emily In Paris, stated that he was told to be handy but they got going too early. C.P. Millar, rider of General Hubble, stated that he wanted a lead but the horse on his inside set his mount off. J.B. Foley, rider of Kilmacurkin, stated that he was one of the first to pull up and he was constantly sitting in the saddle. S.D. Torrens, rider of Cullenwaine, stated that he wanted to be in the front rank but got squeezed out. H.E. Sexton, rider of Rudy Catrail, stated that he was one of the last to go and the horses on his outer had gone. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that G. Brouder, C.P. Millar, and H.E. Sexton were in breach of Rule 208(iii)(b), in that they had put their mounts into a trot or canter with a view to taking any advantage before the race was started and having considered their records in this regard (first offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended G. Brouder, C.P. Millar and H.E. Sexton for one raceday.

Aidan Anthony Howard, trainer of Kilmacurkin, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge was lame post race. The IHRB Veterinary Officer subsequently reported that Kilmacurkin had pulled its right hind shoe.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident turning out of the back straight involving Cullenwaine, ridden by S.D. Torrens, placed fifth, and Rudy Catrail, ridden by H.E. Sexton, unplaced, where it appeared Cullenwaine momentarily ran short of room. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

Having viewed the recording and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards accepted the explanation given and took no further action other than to advise M.J.M. O'Sullivan to pull up his mount in the interest of safety if it is persistently jumping poorly.
