B. Hayes, rider of Balko D'ange (FR), trained by Philip Fenton, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a mistake at the last.
044B BoyleSports (Mares) M'dn H'dleThe Raceday Stewards enquired into the start of this race where it appeared K.M. Donoghue, rider of Jokers 'N' Clowns was unseated shortly after the start of the race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned and the I.H.R.B Starter Mr. J.R. Banahan. K.M. Donoghue stated that his mount was very unruly at the start and fly leaping and just as Mr. Banahan let them off, his mount went up again and he was unseated after the race was started. He added that it was just unfortunate timing. Mr. J.R. Banahan stated that Mr. Donoghue's mount was acting up and just as he let them off Mr. Donohue's mount leaped into the air and unseated the rider after the flag was dropped. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that a fair start had been effected and they took no further action.
S. O'Callaghan, rider of Curzon Queen, trained by H. Smyth, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.
044C BoyleSports Extra Places H'cap H'dleThe Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the home bend involving Smackwater Jack, ridden by Eoin G. Kelly, unplaced, Carrig Carol, ridden by Shane Fenelon, unplaced, and Aodhan May, ridden by P. Byrnes, placed first, where it appeared Carrig Carol had to check off Aodhan May causing Smackwater Jack to catch an upright of the rail. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Eoin G. Kelly stated that he felt pressure from his outside. Shane Fenelon stated that there was a gap there for him and he felt pressure from his outside and was squeezed out. Furthermore, he added that he gave a shout and confirmed there was contact. P. Byrnes stated that he was trying to get to the inside. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found P. Byrnes was in breach of Rule 214, in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard(second offence), the Raceday Stewards suspended P. Byrnes for four racedays.
044G NavanRacecourse.ie (Mares) H'cap S'chaseD.J Gilligan, rider of Jumping Jet, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed K.E Buckley, rider of Shes Some Doll, trained by Thomas Gibney, concerning his failure to pull up his mount. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he felt his mount was cantering fine between the second last fence and the last fence so he felt she still had enough to jump the last. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that K.E Buckley was in breach of Rule 216(ii)(b), and having considered his record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards suspended K.E Buckley for five racedays. In arriving at their decision the Raceday Stewards had taken into account how Mr. Buckley's mount had also jumped the second last.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed Niall Moore, rider of Lizrona, trained by Eric Larkin, concerning his failure to pull up his mount. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that a horse pulled up in front of him but he felt he was committed to the jump and that it was the safest option. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Niall Moore was in breach of Rule 216(ii)(b), in that his mount had no more to give, and having considered his record in this regard they suspended him for three racedays. In arriving at their decision the Raceday stewards had taken into account the manner in which Mr. Moore's mount jumped throughout and also the horse pulling up in front of him.
