Foley, unplaced, where it appeared that there was contact between the two. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
The Stewards reviewed an incident in the closing stages involving Boyne River (GB), ridden by D.P. McDonogh, placed third and Espouse, ridden by T.P. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the regulation and apologised. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that D. P. McDonogh was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency. Having considered D. P. 117F Goffs Lacken StakesThe Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Laws Of Indices, ridden by W.J. Lee, placed fourth, A Case Of You, ridden by R.P. Whelan, placed first, Power Under Me, ridden by C.T. Keane, placed third and Mooneista, ridden by W.M. Lordan, placed second, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. W. J. Lee stated that he felt some pressure from his right but it caused him no interference. R. P. Whelan stated that his mount ran around a little but he felt he had not caused any interference. C. T. Keane stated that he got a bump close to the line and he felt it had cost him a place. W. M. Lordan stated that his mount had run around and he had done his best to keep it straight. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Mooneista had caused interference to Power Under Me and as a result of this interference had improved its finishing position. As a consequence, the Stewards reversed the placings of the second and third horses and amended the result to read as follows;
First: A Case Of You
Second: Power Under Me
Third: Mooneista
Fourth: Laws Of Indices
Fifth: Magnanimous
Sixth: Lippizzaner
