The Stewards interviewed G.P. Brouder, rider of Stickyourneckout, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he had used his whip excessively however he had used it twice to straighten his mount. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that G.P. Brouder was in breach of Regulation 10.3 (g), excessive frequency. Having considered his record in this regard, the Stewards, pursuant Regulation 10 (6)(a) suspended G.P. Brouder for 6 racedays.
G.M. Ryan, rider of Geodesic trained by Donnacha Aidan O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran short of room inside the final furlong.
The Stewards enquired into an incident inside the final furlong of this race involving Geodesic, ridden by G.M. Ryan, Stickyourneckout, ridden by G.P. Brouder, and She's Trouble, ridden by K.J. Manning, where it appeared that Geodesic ran short of room and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. G.M. Ryan stated that he had been running on well before receiving pressure on his inside and got squeezed. K.J. Manning stated that he received pressure from his outside. G.P. Brouder stated that his mount ran green, spooked at movement from his outside and he put his stick down in order to straighten his mount up. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that G.P. Brouder was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his record in this regard, the Stewards suspended G.P. Brouder for 3 racedays.
115B Navan Median Auction M'dnR.P. Whelan, rider of Keep A Promise trained by A. Oliver, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount jinked right and his saddle slipped between the 2 furlong and the 1 furlong marker.
At the request of the Stewards, C.T. Keane, rider of Thunder Rain, trained by G.M.Lyons, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was difficult in the starting stalls, was slowly away and did not respond when asked to quicken inside the closing stages of this race.
115C NavanRacecourse.ie H'capThe Stewards fined John James Feane, trainer, €65 for failing to fit declared cheekpieces to Art Of Unity (GB), prior to entering the parade ring.
115D Bellinter H'capThe Stewards requested a report from Kevin Thomas Coleman, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Only Spoofing, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Kevin Thomas Coleman reported that he has recently acquired his charge who was a winner on 6 previous runs over 5 furlongs including a win here at Navan. Overall K. Coleman was of the opinion that today's ground and distance are the most suitable conditions for his charge. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
115F1 Troytown Bar H'capThe Stewards enquired into an incident inside the final furlong involving Storm Steps, ridden by B.M. Coen, Grey Serge (GB), ridden by Cillian McConnell, Eastern Tornado, ridden by C.T. Keane, and Mastermind, ridden by N.M. Crosse, where it appeared that Eastern Tornado and Grey Serge checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. C.T. Keane stated that after turning for home he ran out to get the best ground, however got no luck in running. C. McConnell stated that he got no luck in running and checked to avoid running onto heels. N.M. Crosse stated that his mount was lugging and he used his whip to correct him. B.M. Coen stated that his mount ducked out, he straightened him up but his mount was getting tired. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations offered and took no further action.
R.P. Whelan, rider of Anyonecanhaveitall (GB) trained by M.Halford, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lugged a bit left 2 furlongs out.
M.A. Gallagher, rider of Macaban City trained by Gerard Michael Hussey, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was slowly away.
J.M. Sheridan, rider of Eagle Reel trained by Luke Comer, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right in the straight.
