P.T. Enright, rider of Winding River, trained by Oliver McKiernan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped poorly throughout.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Faux Fur (FR) trained by Gordon Elliott had blood at both nostrils post race.
J.W. Kennedy, rider of Faux Fur (FR), trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount burst.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Andys Flame (GB), trained by John C. McConnell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.
348B Cavan Developments M'dn H'dleThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Jersey Des Brosses (FR), trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Royal Noble, ridden by J.B. Foley, and trained by Michael G. Cleary. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. J.B. Foley, stated that his instructions were to drop him out and settle him. He stated that his horse ran away with him on the way to the start. In the race he was running away with him after two hurdles and was very free. His jumping was generally ok but he galloped into the last hurdle. At the third hurdle he ran into a gap. After his previous run he suggested the horse might benefit from a hood. Michael G. Cleary, stated that this horse was very keen the last day. He should have put a hood on him. He felt the horse burnt himself out by pulling so hard. He was satisfied with the ride given. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Royal Noble was post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanations offered with regard to the running and riding. They did however find J.B. Foley in breach of Rule 213 by failing to report something which may have affected the running of his horse and having taken his clean record in this regard into account, suspended him for one race day.
348C Fishery Lane Novice H'dleThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Zariygann, trained by M. Halford & T. Collins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.
J.W. Kennedy, rider of Zariygann, trained by M. Halford & T. Collins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left.
M. Halford trainer of Zariygann, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge scoped clean post race.
348D I.N.H. Stallion Owners EBF M'dn H'dleThe Raceday Stewards received a report from J.R. Banahan, IHRB Starter, regarding the delay to the start of this race. The Starter reported that when he arrived at the start the starting mechanism had been set up incorrectly. This resulted in the delay to the start of this race. Having considered the report, the Raceday Stewards noted its contents.
348E Brown Lad H'cap H'dleThe Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident past the stands with a circuit to go involving Gaoth Chuil, ridden by K.M. Donoghue, Win Some Lose Some, ridden by M.P. Walsh, and Natural Look, ridden by J. Coen, where it appeared horses got tight for room on the bend. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
C.M. Quirke, rider of Sir Allen (GB), trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was badly hampered turning into the finishing straight.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident from the approach to the hurdle to the point of the bend involving Happy Jacky, ridden by P.T. Smithers, Sir Allen (GB), ridden by C.M. Quirke, First Dare, ridden by P. Hanlon, and Missus Beeton, ridden by C.M Hogan where it appeared Sir Allen (GB) ran short of room on the inner. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. P.T. Smithers stated that his horse jinked left and the rail came out to meet him. The horses on his outer come in to him. Cian Quirke stated that he was down the inside, he let a shout and got squeezed and pushed in. P. Hanlon stated that he kept a straight line, he was aware of the horse on his inner but got bumped from the right. C.M. Hogan stated that as they rounded the bend the horse in front comes left and he went for a gap that closed at which point his own horse leaned left. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action other than to advise all the riders to ride with more awareness in future.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the turn into the straight involving Win Some Lose Some, ridden by M.P. Walsh, and Natural Look, ridden by J. Coen where it appeared Natural Look ran short of room on the inner. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. M.P. Walsh stated that he switched into a gap where there was room for two horses. He got no shout from his inner and his horse leaned in. J. Coen stated that he hadn't the horse to maintain his position and his mount's race was run. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action.
348H Irish EBF (M) (P-A) INH Flat RaceThe Raceday Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Diamond Approach, trained by Mary Ellen Doyle, for failing to present the horse for identification to an Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Official in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90 (i).
