Crosse, First Emperor (GB), ridden by G.M. Ryan, Gulliver's Travels, ridden by W.M. Lordan, Mercury Mission (GB), ridden by W.J. Lee and Waterville, ridden by R.L. Moore, where it appeared there was an amount of movement causing some interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, S.M. Crosse stated that on straightening up off the bend, his mount got a shove from his inside which carried the animal off the bend. R.L. Moore stated that he was holding his line when his mount got pushed wide from pressure on his inner. G.M. Ryan stated that the horse in front of his mount came out in front onto his racing line causing his animal to get pushed wide. W.M. Lordan stated that his mount was staying on and on the heels of Captain Hornblower when that animal went right and to avoid catching a heel he had to take action by manoeuvering right at that point. W.J. Lee stated that he had held his position during this incident. N.M. Crosse stated that he had followed Fleet Commander but that animal came back quickly causing him to check right off his heels. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards could not apportion any blame to any rider and in these circumstances took no further action. Mr Peter Reynolds, Acting Steward, absented himself from this enquiry.

The Stewards enquired into an incident inside the final furlong involving Beautiful Sunshine (GB), ridden by G.P. Halpin, Lullaby, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, Nectaris (GB), ridden by S. Foley and Princess Olly, ridden by B.M. Coen, where it appeared that interference had taken place. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, B.M. Coen stated that his mount had quickened nicely but weakened when coming under pressure and leaned left before he was able to straighten her. S. Foley stated that he had the opportunity in the straight to take a gap on the rails but it tightened when he got there, however, he did not stop riding at that point. G.P. Halpin stated that his mount met with interference when coming back out of the race having stopped quickly. J.A. Heffernan stated that his mount had emptied by this point and got tightened from both sides by other horses staying on in the closing stages. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that any interference which occurred was caused by general bunching to which they were unable to apportion any blame and in the circumstances they took no further action.

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Agartha trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount suffered interference twice in the first furlong of this race.

Heffernan and Princess Olly, ridden by B.M. Coen, where it appeared that Agartha met with interference and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, D.P. McDonogh stated that his mount ran keen from stalls and was three quarters of a length down on Beautiful Sunshine (GB) when the pace steadied and that horse moved inward causing him to check. J.A. Heffernan stated that the pace steadied but he had moved outwards and was not involved in any incident. B.M. Coen stated that the pace was fast for the first furlong before it steadied to leave his own mount in front but without causing any interference. G.P. Halpin stated that he got about a half a length up on Agartha when his own mount steadied in front and at that point he felt that he was clear of Agartha. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found that G.P. Halpin was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his record in this regard the Stewards cautioned G.P. Halpin on this occasion

The Stewards requested a report from J. S. Bolger, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Dublin Journal, placed first, as compared with its recent run at Cork on the 16th April when finishing sixteenth of seventeen runners on yielding to soft ground. J.S. Bolger reported that he contributed the improved run today to the good ground conditions. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

The Stewards received a report from Mr P.L. Malone , Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that S.T. McCullagh , rider of Jungle Cove , weighed in at 1.8 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that he had a small drink after weighing out early. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that S.T. McCullagh was in breach of Rule 231 and they therefore suspended him for one raceday having taken his clean previous record into consideration.

C.J. MacRedmond, rider of Bringsty (GB) trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stumbled after racing for two furlongs and later on stopped quickly in the straight.
